A preliminary investigation suggested that no fire extinguishers were available when the fire broke out, which took over three hours to subdue, the outlet reported.<\/p>\n<p>A video shared on Facebook claims to show footage from the disaster. It shows a fire burning in the distance that suddenly erupts into an explosion. \u201cGuddu power plant \u2026..\u201d reads the July 16 post\u2019s caption. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/checkyourfact.com\/2021\/08\/29\/fact-check-zero-casualties-afghanistan-donald-trump-administration\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: Viral Image Claims There Were Zero US Casualties In Afghanistan During The Last 18 Months of Donald Trump\u2019s Administration)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The footage predates the fire at the power plant and was not filmed in Pakistan. IndiaTV included the same footage in an article it <a href=\"https:\/\/www.indiatvnews.com\/news\/world\/fuel-tanker-explosion-video-afghanistan-iran-border-tanker-blast-video-herat-fuel-truck-explosion-video-684991\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">published<\/a> in February 2021 that explained the footage shows an explosion on the Afghanistan-Iranian border that destroyed over 100 fuel tankers.<\/p>\n<p>Twitter user @JasonMBrodsky also shared the video on Twitter at the time with a caption that reads, \u201cVideo of the massive fuel tanker explosion today on the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/Iran?src=hash&#038;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#Iran<\/a>\u2013<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/Afghanistan?src=hash&#038;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#Afghanistan<\/a> border.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"gmail-twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Video of the massive fuel tanker explosion today on the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/Iran?src=hash&#038;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#Iran<\/a>\u2013<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/Afghanistan?src=hash&#038;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#Afghanistan<\/a>\u00a0border.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/1iMo4taaF7\">pic.twitter.com\/1iMo4taaF7<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Jason Brodsky (@JasonMBrodsky)\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/JasonMBrodsky\/status\/1360591498799165443?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">February 13, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>At least 20 people were injured in the 2021 explosion and part of the power grid in the region was shut down, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/afghanistan-fires-iran-explosions-34e88529e4c783aacd01f198a53d5be0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The Associated Press<\/a>. The subsequent fire from the incident took three days to bring under control, the outlet reported.<\/p>\n<p>This is not the first time a video of an explosion has been misattributed to a power plant incident.
