Both the teachings of the church and the return on investment will be included in consideration of future evaluations of the church\u2019s investments.<\/p>\n<p>American Cardinal Kevin Farrell has been <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxbusiness.com\/politics\/vatican-bans-investments-defense-weapons-embryonic-stem-cell-research\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">announced<\/a> as the chairman of the committee. His role will include leading a team of financial professionals from both inside and outside of the Catholic Church.<\/p>\n<p>The announcement comes just two days after Pope Francis asked for prayers during a Sunday message regarding his seven-day trip to Canada scheduled to begin July 24.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNext Sunday, God willing, I will leave for Canada; therefore, I wish now to address all the people of that country,\u201d Francis\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/ZDkaGuC8o8A\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">said<\/a>. \u201cDear brothers and sisters of Canada, as you know, I will come among you especially in the name of Jesus to meet and embrace the indigenous peoples.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Francis also made headlines last week after an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncregister.com\/cna\/pope-francis-considers-it-an-incoherence-that-president-biden-a-catholic-supports-abortion-rights\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">interview<\/a> with Univision, when the pope said President Joe Biden\u2019s view of abortion as a Catholic was incoherent.
