And think about it, for the first time in generations, the United States Supreme Court, the highest court of our land, the former court of Thurgood Marshall, took a constitutional right that had been recognized from the people of America, from the women of America.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe know, in NAACP, that our country has a history of claiming ownership over human bodies,\u201d she continued. \u201cAnd today, extremist so-called leaders are criminalizing doctors, punishing women from healthcare decisions for themselves. Personal decisions, that is her right to make in consultation with her doctor, her pastor, her priest, her rabbi, her loved ones. Not her government telling her what to do.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The vice president claimed leaders arguing abortion is a state\u2019s rights issue are the same ones stripping away voting rights in their states. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/05\/19\/kamala-harris-abortion-providers-meeting-supreme-court-roe-v-wade\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: \u2018Government Can\u2019t Interfere In Personal Decisions\u2019: Kamala Harris Meets With Abortionists, Says Anti-Abortion Laws Mean \u2018War\u2019)\u00a0<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd these so-called leaders claim that \u2018well, you know, we just think that this is a decision that should be made by the folks in the states, people in the states can vote on this.\u2019 But at this moment, many of these same so-called leaders are the same ones who are passing laws to restrict the ability of people to vote.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Georgia passed the Republican-led \u201cElection Integrity Act of 2021\u201d to <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/03\/31\/georgia-voting-bill-absentee-voting-id-requirement-food-water\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">require<\/a> Voter I.D. and ban soliciting by handing out food and water to voters. Democrats and critics have labeled the legislation \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/01\/16\/jim-clyburn-election-integrity-laws-jim-crow-2-0\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Jim Crow 2.0<\/a>\u201d in reference to the voter suppression of African Americans in the pre-Civil Rights era. <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/04\/01\/tim-cook-apple-georgia-voting-china\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Fact-checkers<\/a> have debunked President Joe Biden\u2019s claims that the law minimizes voting hours.<\/p>\n<p>The Supreme Court <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/06\/24\/roe-v-wade-overturned-supreme-court-dobbs-v-jackson-womens-health\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">overturned<\/a> Roe v. Wade on June 24, handing the right to regulate abortion back to the states. Associate Justice Samuel Alito argued the majority opinion that there is no constitutional provision that protects a woman\u2019s right to an abortion.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe hold that Roe and Casey must be overruled. The Constitution makes no reference to abortion, and no such right\u00a0is implicitly protected by any constitutional provision, including the one on which the defenders of Roe and Casey\u00a0now chiefly rely\u2014the Due Process Clause of the Fourteenth\u00a0Amendment,\u201d Justice Samuel Alito wrote in the majority\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.supremecourt.gov\/opinions\/21pdf\/19-1392_6j37.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">opinion<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The case, Dobbs v. Jackson Women\u2019s Health Organization, upheld Mississippi\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2018\/03\/19\/mississippi-abortion-ban\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">15-week abortion ban<\/a> except in cases threatening the mother\u2019s life or health.
