In a historic milestone, there are now more registered Republicans than Democrats in Kentucky,\u201d they <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/KYGOP\/status\/1547941312883593218?s=20&#038;t=qyToOz5-RvDRissO1G16mw\">said in the post caption.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) hailed the shift in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cToday is a day I never thought would happen,\u201d McConnell said. \u201cAfter decades of hard work and grassroots efforts across the Commonwealth, registered Republicans now outnumber registered Democrats in Kentucky.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCongratulations to all my fellow Republicans who have worked so hard and so long to make this historic day possible.
