Josh Hawley and a Berkeley law professor <\/a>insisting that men can and do get pregnant. Yes, that happened, in a Senate hearing.<\/p>\n<p>You say that to an abuela, and the most likely response will be \u201cque?\u201d followed by a quick \u201cadios!\u201d That type of deep societal confusion gets you quickly to inflection points.<\/p>\n<p>In the 1850s, the boiling, stinking cauldron of slavery destroyed the Whig Party and divided the Democrats. The two parties that we still have to this day emerged from the ashes.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/07\/biden-vote.jpg\"><\/a><figcaption>Skyrocketing inflation has not been curbed by President Biden.<\/figcaption><figcaption><span class=\"credit\">Maya Alleruzzo, Pool\/AP<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>After the Civil War, elites in the Democratic Party worked against a union by small white and black farmers in the South, and immigrants and industrial workers in the North, by splitting the coalition over the issue of race.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module alignright\">\n\t<\/aside>\n<p>Today\u2019s Democratic Party also has become the redoubt of a <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2022\/07\/13\/bidens-inexperienced-lackeys-unlikely-to-pull-us-out-of-inflation-doom\/\">coastal, college-accredited, rich, managerial class<\/a> which benefits from the global division of labor, open borders, and the refusal of Congress to legislate, leaving decision-making in the hands of technocrats.<\/p>\n<p>This elite\u2019s main concerns have become the usage of right pronouns, the insistence that \u2014 against all biological evidence \u2014 men can menstruate and become impregnated, and the farcical proposition that America is an oppressive society. Oh, and they want to call Hispanics <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2022\/05\/30\/south-bronx-rep-torres-knocks-yankees-over-use-of-latinx\/\">\u201cLatinx,\u201d which Hispanics abhor<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The Republican Party, on the other hand, now vies to defend the interests of what the denizens of this Acela Corridor refer to as \u201cFlyover Country\u201d without blushing. That is, working Americans for whom President Biden\u2019s inflation causes deep pain, for whom the division of labor has often meant the subtraction of jobs, and who can\u2019t vote Washington bureaucrats out of office.<\/p>\n<p>Among these hard-working working Americans one finds many people named Garcia, Flores, de la Cruz, and Vega, which also happen to be surnames of Cassy, Mayra, Jessica, and Yesli, four spunky candidates running for House seats in the midterms this year. The first three are from Texas, while Yesli Vega is running in a toss-up seat in Virginia. Raul Reyes, member of the USA Today Board of Contributors, huffed and puffed this week that these <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2022\/07\/12\/opinions\/latina-republican-candidates-texas-reyes\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">women are \u201cnot the real deal.\u201d<\/a> Yeah, that happened. The New York Times \u2014 after years of heaping praise on Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez \u2014 also haughtily referred to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2022\/07\/06\/us\/politics\/mayra-flores-latina-republicans.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">four Republicans as \u201cFar Right Latinas.\u201d<\/a> That happened, too.<\/p>\n<p>What these papers cannot explain, however, is why polls have for two years now consistently shown a significant migration of voters with Spanish surnames to the Republican side. In a special election in June, <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2022\/06\/15\/texas-republican-mayra-flores-wins-special-election-defeating-democrat-dan-sanchez\/\">Mayra Flores became the first Mexican-born woman<\/a> to be elected to Congress and the first Republican in 150 years to be sent to the House by Texas\u2019s 34th congressional district.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/07\/AP22172842899532.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"699\" src=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/AP22172842899532.jpg\" alt=\"House Speaker Nancy Pelosi of Calif., administers the House oath to Rep. This is why a hastily put together media consortium led by two Democrat activists \u2014 one of whom a BLM surrogate \u2014 is seeking to buy 18 Spanish stations with money from <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2022\/07\/06\/florida-radio-host-lourdes-ubieta-quits-after-soros-backed-media-group-buys-station\/\">George Soros<\/a>, the multi-billionaire backer of far-left causes.<\/p>\n<p>And it is also why this snake-bitten White House sent the First Lady to speak to a radical group that for decades went under the name of La Raza (it has now tried to clean up its act and goes by UnidosUS, shedding the name \u201cThe Race\u201d). Reading from the teleprompter, Biden compared Latinos to Bronx bodegas \u2014 which she <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2022\/07\/11\/jill-biden-mispronounces-bodega-to-hispanic-advocacy-group\/\">unhappily pronounced \u201cbow-geh-das\u201d<\/a>) and to San Antonio \u201cbreakfast tacos.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Humiliation ensued \u2014 as it often does in our social media age \u2014 and the First Lady apologized.<\/p>\n<p>But that won\u2019t end a demographic and political tsunami that may be coming for Democrats.<\/p>\n<p><em>Mike<\/em> <em>Gonzalez is a senior fellow at The Heritage Foundation.
