That is not where we are right now,\u201d Lemon explained. \u201cRepublicans are doing something that is very dangerous to our society and we have to acknowledge that. We have to acknowledge that as Americans, we must acknowledge that as journalists, because if we don\u2019t, we\u2019re not doing our jobs. We cannot sit here and pretend like \u2018Well, Republicans, cut them a break \u2026\u2019 They have a lot to answer for in this moment.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Among the things Lemon wanted Republicans to \u201canswer for\u201d were the Capitol Riot on January 6 and a series of laws restricting abortion that followed immediately after the Supreme Court handed down its 6-3 decision in <em>Dobbs v. Jackson Women\u2019s Health Organization<\/em> \u2014 which overturned landmark abortion cases\u00a0<em>Roe v. Wade<\/em> and\u00a0<em>Planned Parenthood v. Casey.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf they come on CNN, they must answer for that. If they come on MSNBC, they must answer for that. If they go on ABC, they must answer for that. They cannot expect to be coddled when they go onto a news organization or when they step up in front of a crowd of supporters or voters or of Americans,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/dailywire.com\/news\/don-lemon-asks-if-democrats-are-heading-for-a-trouncing-in-november-guest-says-yes\/\">Lemon<\/a> insisted.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou have the inmates running the asylum, basically. You have the extremists, because I know there are Republicans sitting out there going, \u2018No, Don Lemon, that\u2019s not what we are.\u2019 It\u2019s maybe not what you are, but it\u2019s what your party\u2019s become.
