Officials believe that her death was an accident.<\/p>\n<p>Local news stations reported that she was dead by the time paramedics had arrived on scene after they received a call about someone in cardiac arrest. City officials will still investigate and release a report on the official cause of death.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Ivana Trump,\u201d Trump\u2019s children said in a statement. \u201cOur mother was an incredible woman \u2014 a force in business, a world-class athlete, a radiant beauty, and a caring mother and friend. Ivana Trump was a survivor. She fled from communism and embraced this country. She taught her children grit and toughness, compassion, and determination. She will be dearly missed by her mother, her three children and ten grandchildren.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Donald Trump announced his ex-wife\u2019s death on Thursday afternoon in a post on social media, writing: \u201cI am very saddened to inform all of those that loved her, of which there are many, that Ivana Trump has passed away at her home in New York City.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cShe was a wonderful, beautiful, and amazing woman, who led a great and inspirational life,\u201d he added. \u201cHer pride and joy were her three children, Donald Jr., Ivanka, and Eric. She was so proud of them, as we were all so proud of her. Rest In Peace, Ivana!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Ivana Trump was Donald Trump\u2019s first wife and is the mother of his three oldest children, Donald Trump Jr., Ivanka Trump, and Eric Trump.<\/p>\n<p>Ivana Marie Zeln\u00edckov\u00e1 was born under communist rule in the former Czechoslovakia. She was athletically gifted growing up as she\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.biography.com\/personality\/ivana-trump\">participated<\/a>\u00a0in competitive skiing starting at the age of six and continued skiing through college and reportedly was an alternate for the country\u2019s Olympic team in 1972.<\/p>\n<p>Ivana Trump later immigrated to Canada in the 1970s where she worked as a ski instructor before starting her modeling career which landed her in New York in 1976 where she quickly met Donald Trump.<\/p>\n<p>Ivana Trump married Donald Trump in 1977. The couple later got divorced in 1992.<\/p>\n<p>The New York Times\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2022\/07\/14\/nyregion\/ivana-trump-dead.html\">reported<\/a>\u00a0that Ivana Trump was a \u201ccritical part\u201d in Donald Trump building his real-estate business, describing her as extremely hard working and with a keen eye for details.
