Ron DeSantis emphasized Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>Video footage from a Thursday press conference in Putnam County, Florida, shows the governor looking exasperated as he references liberal activist claims that men can become pregnant.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCan we actually agree that women get pregnant and not men?\u201d he asked. \u201cIt\u2019s just unbelievable some of the stuff that you\u2019re hearing about that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>President Joe Biden\u2019s administration has joined liberal activists in accusing those who state that men cannot get pregnant of being transphobic and attacking people who identify as transgender.<\/p>\n<p>And as transgender activism gains momentum, social media platforms are <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/twitter-locks-out-babylon-bee-over-rachel-levine-tweet-the-bee-responds-truth-is-not-hate-speech?%3Futm_source=twitter&#038;utm_medium=social&#038;utm_campaign=dwtwitter\">censoring accounts<\/a> for posting that transgender women are actually biological men.<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">No lies detected \ud83d\udc40<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Can we actually agree that women get pregnant and not men?&#8221; \u2013 Governor <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RonDeSantisFL?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@RonDeSantisFL<\/a> \ud83d\udcaf\ud83d\udcaf <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/bVkS0pQywF\">pic.twitter.com\/bVkS0pQywF<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Team DeSantis \ud83d\udc0a (@teamrondesantis) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/teamrondesantis\/status\/1547664671078899718?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">July 14, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The governor <a href=\"https:\/\/floridaphoenix.com\/2022\/05\/18\/desantis-spreads-misinformation-about-transgender-people-in-public-appearance\/\">similarly weighed<\/a> in on transgender activism during a public appearance in May as he discussed biologically male swimmer Lia Thomas, who identifies as a woman and swam in the NCAA Women\u2019s Swimming and Diving Championship.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou have a swimmer that swims on the men\u2019s team for three years and then, all of a sudden, says they\u2019re gonna identify as a woman swimmer and swim against the women,\u201d DeSantis said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd then they give that the national championship over these women who\u2019ve been training for a long time,\u201d he continued. \u201cAnd the second place was actually from Florida, who had won a silver medal in the Olympics. So, she got robbed of a national championship because the NCAA is really trying to make us complicit in something that\u2019s false.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>DeSantis emphasized that proponents of this ideology seek to \u201cstifle dissent,\u201d saying, \u201cWe are absolutely going to be on guard to fight back against that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd they don\u2019t want to have to put their ideas to scrutiny,\u201d he added. \u201cBecause, if you\u2019re telling me things like a man can get pregnant, that\u2019s not true.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>During the Thursday press conference, DeSantis announced his endorsement of 16 local school board candidates described by his team as \u201cpro-parent\u201d and \u201cpro-student.\u201d The candidates have pledged to run on the governor\u2019s education agenda: \u201cPutting Students First, Protecting Parents\u2019 Rights.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSchool board members are on the frontlines of protecting parents\u2019 rights and setting our students up for success,\u201d the governor said in a Thursday statement. \u201cIt\u2019s crucial we have strong candidates who are committed to advancing our pro-parent, student-first agenda in Florida.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese candidates will ensure our students succeed, protect parental rights in education, and combat the woke agenda from infiltrating public schools at the local school board level,\u201d he added. \u201cI am pleased to endorse these additional pro-parent candidates for their school board races across the state of Florida.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Women can get pregnant, but men cannot, Republican Florida Gov.
