Lane County Sheriff Search and Rescue personnel responded to assist with bringing him back to the roadway as he was approximately 100 yards down a steep trail.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere is no evidence of foul play and his death appears to be accidental,\u201d the press release added.<\/p>\n<p>The office confirmed on Thursday that the 22-year-old who died was Webb.<\/p>\n<p>Webb red-shirted his freshman year and was heading into his fifth year on the Ducks\u2019 roster.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/report-oregon-tight-end-spencer-webb-dies-in-cliff-diving-accident-at-age-of-22-141208920.html\">According<\/a> to Yahoo Sports, Webb played nine games in 2019, with 18 receptions and three touchdowns. After a COVID-shortened 2020 season, the tight end garnered 13 receptions and one TD in 2021.<\/p>\n<p>Webb opened up about his upbringing in 2016, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sacbee.com\/sports\/high-school\/joe-davidson\/article174441301.html\">telling<\/a> The Sacramento Bee that his parents did not raise him.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI never really had a mom or dad in my life. They chose to do other things, so it\u2019s been me and my brother [Cody],\u201d Webb said, according\u00a0to Yahoo Sports. \u201cI had a dream, he had a dream, and we\u2019re making that dream happen.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt doesn\u2019t really bother me now not knowing my mom. She missed out,\u201d he continued. \u201cI\u2019ll see my dad every once in a while.
