And shouldn\u2019t have to read the comics,\u201d the fan concluded.<\/p>\n<p>That fan was echoed by another who chimed in, \u201c\u2019Been through treatment twice and I\u2019ve got such bad PTSD from it. I\u2019m glad I knew the plot so I can skip it!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Two other fans agreed, commenting, \u201cStop misinterpreting and spreading misinformation. These are really sensitive issues and can trigger people. I panicked until I knew the context. PLEASE!\u201d \u201cThor really needs a trigger warning for us cancer patients even though I knew the story I wonder if others do.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>But other fans took issue with the idea of a warning, including BBC journalist Josh Rom, who contended, \u201cSo I watched this last night, HONESTLY \u2026 you want trigger warnings? FILMS TELL STORIES. Get the help and therapy you need but don\u2019t blame the movie for a touching storyline \u2026 JHEEZ!!.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Other comments that agreed with that perspective:<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cAs a cancer survivor, I find this extremely stupid.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cTrigger Warnings? Seriously? Are people that weak minded that you can\u2019t deal with a dramatic scene It\u2019s not like this is the first movie to do this. How stupid.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cLOL at these kids crying about the new Thor movie not having a trigger warning, reading what was upsetting\u2026 how come nobody was fussing about the opening scene in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.1?\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Disney has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.com\/news\/world-us-canada-54566087\">placed warnings<\/a> on classic films such as \u201cPeter Pan,\u201d \u201cThe Aristocats,\u201d \u201cLady and the Tramp,\u201d \u201cThe Jungle Book,\u201d and \u201cSwiss Family Robinson.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis program includes negative depictions and\/or mistreatment of people or cultures,\u201d Disney has written. \u201cThese stereotypes were wrong then and are wrong now.
