\u2026Y\u2019all are attacking the media when y\u2019all should attack them cops that did nothing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>McLaughlin deflected the question saying he wouldn\u2019t argue with the residents, and defended authorities saying authorities tried entering the room where the gunman was three different times and reiterated.<\/p>\n<p>The video reveals roughly four minutes of compiled footage showing Uvalde police officers responding to the 18-year-old male shooter who killed 19 children and two teachers and injured several others after spending more than an hour inside the school before police shot and killed him.<\/p>\n<p>Due to The Daily Wire\u2019s policy against publishing the names of mass shooters, the gunman\u2019s name will not be mentioned.<\/p>\n<p>When police entered the school, at least 13 officers were gathered in the hallway while the gunman murdered 21 people inside a classroom.<\/p>\n<p>Manny Garcia, executive editor of Austin American-Statesmen, who publicized the surveillance video, wrote an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.statesman.com\/story\/opinion\/columns\/2022\/07\/12\/uvalde-shooting-video-austin-american-statesman-editor-investigation-publish\/65371937007\/\">op-ed<\/a> on Tuesday explaining why the media outlet chose to publish video from inside Robb Elementary alongside their news partner, KVUE.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur goal is to continue to bring to light what happened at Robb Elementary, which the families and friends of the Uvalde victims have long been asking for,\u201d Garcia said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have to bear witness to history, and transparency and unrelenting reporting is a way to bring change,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>Uvalde Mayor McLaughlin said every agency \u2014 from school officials to the federal government \u2014 that responded to the massacre would be held accountable for their actions that day.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo one will be exempt,\u201d McLaughin said.<\/p>\n<p>McLaughlin called the investigation \u201cunprofessional\u201d from day one.<\/p>\n<p>Uvalde city officials said authorities planned to have a meeting showing the footage to the victims\u2019 families before releasing it to the public.<\/p>\n<p>Texas Department of Public Safety Director Steve McCraw said the video\u2019s release before all the families impacted that day \u201cdeeply disappointed\u201d him.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis video provides horrifying evident that the law enforcement response to the attack at Robb Elementary on May 24 was an abject failure,\u201d the\u00a0<a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/TxDPS\/status\/1546979582141767680?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Etweet\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">statement<\/a>\u00a0reads. \u201cIn law enforcement, when one officer fails, we all fail.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>McCraw previously confirmed that nine officers were inside the building within three minutes of the attack.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe officers had weapons, the children had none,\u201d he said. \u201cThe officers had body armor, the children had none.
