According to Fox News, the juror who showed up to serve was the son of the man who was summoned.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMs. Heard had a right to rely on the basic protection, as prescribed by the Virginia Code, that the jurors in this trial would be individuals who were actually summoned for jury duty,\u201d the\u00a0legal <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/REDACTED-Supp-Memo-in-Support-of-Post-Trial-Motions-filed-7-8-22.pdf\">filing<\/a> accused. \u201cIn this case, it appears that Juror No. 15 was not, in fact, the same individual as listed on the jury panel. Ms. Heard\u2019s due process was therefore compromised. Under these circumstances, a mistrial should be declared, and a new trial ordered.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Depp\u2019s team torched the request as\u00a0\u201cfrivolous\u201d and \u201cdesperate\u201d in a 36-page memorandum filed Monday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMr. Depp respectfully submits that the Court should deny Ms. Heard\u2019s Post-Trial Motions, which verge into the frivolous,\u201d the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fairfaxcounty.gov\/circuit\/sites\/circuit\/files\/assets\/documents\/pdf\/high-profile\/depp%20v%20heard\/cl-2019-2911-plaintiff-memo-opp-post-trial-mot-7-11-2022.pdf\">memorandum<\/a> said, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsweek.com\/read-johnny-depps-full-response-amber-heard-retrial-request-1723628\">according<\/a> to Newsweek.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhile Ms. Heard slings an exceptional amount of mud at the wall in the hope that something might stick, the jury\u2019s verdict on damages was perfectly reasonable and supported by the evidence and testimony in this case,\u201d the filing continued.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMs. Heard\u2019s desperate, after-the-fact demand for an investigation of Juror 15 based on a purported error in his birth date is \u2026 misplaced \u2026 Moreover, Ms. Heard\u2019s argument is based on pure speculation,\u201d Depp\u2019s legal team blasted.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor all the reasons set forth above, Mr. Depp respectfully requests that this Court deny Ms. heard\u2019s frivolous Motion in its entirety and reject her outlandish requests to set aside the jury verdict, dismiss the Complaint, or, in the alternative, order a new trial, and investigate Juror 15,\u201d the filing concluded.<\/p>\n<p>Heard and her counsel have made it clear that the actress does not intend to pay Depp the millions she owes him.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Related:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/johnny-depp-blasts-amber-heard-over-filing-on-alleged-error-seeking-new-defamation-trial\">Johnny Depp Blasts Amber Heard Over Filing On Alleged Error Seeking New Defamation\u00a0Trial<\/p>\n<p><\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A Virginia judge on Wednesday denied Amber Heard\u2018s request for a new defamation trial with ex-husband Johnny Depp based on an alleged juror error.
