Yet Elon Musk \u2014 the wealthiest of them all \u2014 recently surprised the nation by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2022\/05\/18\/elon-musk-says-hell-vote-republican-bashes-democrats.html\">announcing<\/a> that he is voting Republican.<\/p>\n<p>Musk \u2014 the CEO of both Tesla and SpaceX, as well as TIME Magazine\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/elon-musk-named-times-person-of-the-year\">Person of the Year<\/a> \u2014 is worth $215 billion, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/billionaires\/profiles\/elon-r-musk\/#xj4y7vzkg\">Bloomberg\u2019s Billionaires Index<\/a>. Amid his rise to become the richest man in the world, one of Musk\u2019s primary obstacles has been leftist lawmakers and their agendas.<\/p>\n<p>In the spring of 2020, Musk grew increasingly frustrated as government lockdowns prevented the reopening of his companies. In California, lawmakers refused to allow a major Tesla factory to reopen, leading Musk to weigh moving the company\u2019s headquarters to Texas \u2014 which, of course, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/elon-musk-says-tesla-moving-headquarters-from-california-to-texas\">he eventually did<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFrankly, this is the final straw. Tesla will now move its HQ and future programs to Texas\/Nevada immediately,\u201d Musk <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/elonmusk\/status\/1259162367285317633\">tweeted<\/a>. \u201cIf we even retain Fremont manufacturing activity at all, it will be dependen [sic] on how Tesla is treated in the future. Tesla is the last carmaker left in CA.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Musk devoted significant time and energy to refuting the mentality behind the lockdowns. \u201cThe expansion of shelter-in-place, or as we call it, forcibly imprisoning people in their homes, against all their constitutional rights, is, in my opinion, breaking people\u2019s freedoms in ways that are horrible and wrong, and not why people came to America and built this country,\u201d he <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/2020\/4\/29\/21242102\/elon-musk-coronavirus-fascist-shelter-in-place-tesla-covid-19-safety-science\">argued<\/a> during a Tesla earnings call. \u201cThis is not democratic. This is not freedom. \u2026 Everything people have worked for all their lives is being destroyed in real time. I think the people are going to be very angry about this and are very angry.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As Musk continued to balk at the draconian policies, he <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/elon-musk-take-the-red-pill\">encouraged<\/a> other Americans to \u201ctake the red pill.\u201d The phrase \u2014 which comes from a moment in \u201cThe Matrix\u201d where main character Neo opts to take a pill allowing him to see reality despite being force-fed a lie throughout his entire life \u2014 also refers to liberals beginning to reject leftist narratives. Indeed, Musk <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/elonmusk\/status\/1287818109651431427?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1287818109651431427%7Ctwgr%5E%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&#038;ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.dailywire.com%2Fnews%2Felon-musk-announces-hes-switching-to-vote-republican\">noticed<\/a> that the Left is \u201closing the middle\u201d of the political spectrum.<\/p>\n<p>Over the next several months, Musk began vocally opposing Democratic officials and debunking key elements of their agendas.<\/p>\n<p>As President Joe Biden assumed office and introduced the Build Back Better Act \u2014 a package that would have expanded federal social programs, such as universal preschool, childcare subsidies, and climate change initiatives \u2014 Musk <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/nothing-is-more-permanent-than-a-temporary-government-program-elon-musk-continues-crusade-against-biden-agenda\">actively argued<\/a> against the legislation. \u201cI would say can this bill, don\u2019t pass it. That\u2019s my recommendation,\u201d he <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/elon-musk-trashes-bidens-build-back-better-plan-can-this-bill-dont-pass-it\">argued<\/a> during The Wall Street Journal\u2019s CEO Council Summit. \u201cIf this bill happens or doesn\u2019t happen, we don\u2019t think about it at all really. Honestly it might be better if the bill doesn\u2019t pass.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Musk also <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/elonmusk\/status\/1468685877970935809\">used<\/a> a line that originated with economist Milton Friedman, and which President Ronald Reagan often borrowed: \u201cNothing is more permanent than a \u2018temporary\u2019 government program.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The world\u2019s richest man is no supporter of President Biden. While the White House has frequently praised the efforts of Ford and GM, Tesla \u2014 the world\u2019s largest electric vehicle manufacturer \u2014 has often been omitted. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/joe-bidens-electric-vehicle-summit-excludes-tesla\">snubbing<\/a> may be due to the fact that Tesla is not unionized, as former White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki hinted last year when she was asked why Tesla was not invited to an electric vehicle summit in which the other two companies participated.<\/p>\n<p>During his most recent State of the Union address, Biden <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/elon-musk-hits-joe-biden-hard-after-state-of-the-union\">nodded<\/a> to Ford and its manufacturing efforts. \u201cFord is investing $11B to build electric vehicles \u2014 creating 11,000 jobs across the country,\u201d read a post from Biden\u2019s Twitter account as the State of the Union speech concluded. \u201cGM is making the largest investment in its history \u2014 $7B to build electric vehicles, creating 4,000 jobs in Michigan.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTesla has created over 50,000 US jobs building electric vehicles &#038; is investing more than double GM + Ford combined,\u201d Musk <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/JoeBiden\/status\/1498848735798960130?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1498858611241635843%7Ctwgr%5E%7Ctwcon%5Es2_&#038;ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.dailywire.com%2Fnews%2Felon-musk-hits-joe-biden-hard-after-state-of-the-union\">responded<\/a> as an \u201cfyi to person controlling this twitter.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Indeed, Musk has often referenced Biden\u2019s apparent senility. After Biden <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/biden-repeatedly-struggles-while-delivering-remarks-elon-musk-torches-him\">stumbled<\/a> through remarks provided to him via teleprompter, Musk commented with a meme from the movie \u201cAnchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy,\u201d which showed the film\u2019s main character struggling to use a teleprompter. \u201cWhoever controls the teleprompter is the real President!\u201d Musk added.<\/p>\n<p>Musk\u2019s disdain extends to Democratic legislators. For instance, Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/stop-projecting-elon-musk-blasts-elizabeth-warren-for-saying-hes-freeloading-off-everyone-else\">asserted<\/a> on Twitter that the \u201crigged tax code\u201d ought to be changed so that the multibillionaire will \u201cstop freeloading off everyone else.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Musk <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/elonmusk\/status\/1470848958897471497\">replied<\/a> with a series of knockout blows.
