On Monday, the studio released stills from the film, and the 76-year-old legend looks to be in top form.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI love action films that also have heart,\u201d Stallone said in a statement released by the studio. \u201cI wanted to be involved with \u2018Samaritan\u2019 because this story has many layers that I think people can relate to. It\u2019s something of a morality tale that is also very exciting to watch.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Stallone naturally plays the superhero who provides the movie with its name and who has been hiding in retirement as \u201cJoe Smith\u201d for 20 years since a battle with his rival, Nemesis. (Amazon Prime)<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s the star\u2019s first live-action role since 2019\u2019s \u201cRambo: Last Blood<em>.<\/em><em>\u201d<\/em> He has a fourth installment of his lucrative \u201cThe Expendables\u201d franchise in the works, in which he will bring back his role of Barney Ross alongside Jason Statham, Dolph Lundgren, and Randy Couture.
