Wade.<\/p>\n<p>Hawley asked if Bridges was referring to women, prompting the exchange.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMany women, cis women, have the capacity for pregnancy. Many cis women do not have the capacity for pregnancy. There are also trans men capable of pregnancy, and nonbinary people,\u201d Bridges claimed.<\/p>\n<p>Cis is a word used by activists to describe people who identify as their natural sex from birth. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/t-transgender\">Transgender<\/a> refers to people who identify otherwise.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis isn\u2019t really a women\u2019s rights issue\u201d then, Hawley said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe can recognize that this impacts women while also recognizing that it impacts other groups. Those things are not mutually exclusive,\u201d Bridges said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI want to recognize that your line of questioning is transphobic and it opens up trans people to violence by not recognizing them,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou\u2019re saying I\u2019m opening up to violence by asking whether or not women are the folks who can have pregnancies?\u201d Hawley asked.<\/p>\n<p>Bridges said that a number of transgender people commit suicide, which she pinned on people \u201cdenying trans people exist and pretending not to know they exist.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDo you believe that men can get pregnant?\u201d she asked Hawley.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo you\u2019re denying that trans people exist.
