The book, whose rating averages 4.9 stars on Amazon\u2019s five-star scale, chronicles Walsh\u2019s efforts to find out how radical gender theory proponents answer the title question. Walsh also released a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/subscribe-today-two\">hit\u00a0documentary<\/a> by the same name.<\/p>\n<p>Amazon\u2019s decision is even stranger considering some of the other content the company sees fit to advertise on its platform. The e-commerce giant may have drawn the line at advertising \u201cWhat Is A Woman?,\u201d but it does not maintain that same standard for all gender identity content.<\/p>\n<p>Let\u2019s take a closer look at exactly what kind of gender content Amazon promotes.<\/p>\n<p>Amazon approves ads for a slew of titles encouraging people, even young children, to question their gender identity. Transgender people having more visibility presently is \u201cjust the natural order reasserting itself,\u201d the book asserts.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCis people have a lot of questions, like \u2018why is this suddenly a thing?\u2019 It\u2019s not, pumpkin,\u201d the book snarks. \u201cWe have always been here. This has always been a thing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The children\u2019s book \u201cBlink, Plue, and Colorful You\u201d introduces youngsters to the concepts of non-binary and transgender using colorful cartoons of cute monster characters who channel a woke Dr. Seuss with lines like, \u201cI\u2019m a little bit pink. I\u2019m a little bit blue. I am proud to be me. (Amazon screenshots)<\/p>\n<p>A New York mom whose child identifies as transgender expressed her disappointment with Amazon\u2019s decision to reject the \u201cWhat Is A Woman?\u201d ads.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI once thought Amazon was the greatest marketplace of ideas; now it\u00a0seems it\u2019s just a marketplace \u2014 one of constant consumerism and activist dictates. It\u2019s a sad day for books and an even sadder day for\u00a0reason,\u201d she told The Daily Wire.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf more young girls were asked this question, before they cut off their breasts, perhaps we would have fewer vulnerable kids with lifelong regret,\u201d the mom said. \u201cDon\u2019t they deserve protections? Don\u2019t they deserve critical inquiry? Don\u2019t they deserve for us to ask, \u2018What is a woman?&#8217;\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The mom pointed out that the term \u201cconversion therapy,\u201d which usually refers to an attempt to change a person\u2019s sexual orientation, is sometimes misused to apply to therapies for children who are exploring their dysphoria and anxiety about their bodies.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHelping a child or adolescent feel safe and happy in his or her body is not conversion therapy,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>Amazon did not respond to a detailed request for comment.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this year, Amazon employees held an internal meeting to discuss Matt Walsh and his \u201ctraumatic\u201d books for sale on Amazon, leaked video from the meeting <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/video-amazon-employees-complain-about-matt-walshs-traumatic-books\">showed<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The group leaders complained that Walsh was \u201ctaking advantage of Amazon and how the Amazon algorithms work to promote their particular brand of hate and harm.\u201d They called it \u201cdisturbing\u201d that Walsh was at the time preparing to release \u201cWhat Is A Woman?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDoes a man even belong in this conversation? No, he doesn\u2019t.\u201d the host said. \u201cBut guess what, it\u2019s not even on sale yet, and it\u2019s number one in women\u2019s studies.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Whether Amazon will reverse its perplexing decision on \u201cWhat Is A Woman?\u201d ads remains to be seen.
