Waiting in his car is a gift basket containing signed Jeter memorabilia, usually a signed baseball,\u201d a source told the outlet at the time.<\/p>\n<p>Per <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usmagazine.com\/celebrity-news\/news\/derek-jeter-addresses-rumor-he-gave-gift-baskets-to-hookups\/\">US Weekly<\/a>, Jeter denied the rumor during a segment for \u201cThe Captain,\u201d a new ESPN Films documentary which premieres July 18.<\/p>\n[embedded content]\n<p>\u201cI read the article,\u201d Jeter said in the series. \u201cYou know, you see it, and then it\u2019s like, \u2018How the f*** did people come up with this?\u2019 You know, basically, that\u2019s it. And who would believe this sh**? And you believed it!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He continued, \u201cIt\u2019s a story that became larger than life. People keep regurgitating this story that never happened. Never happened.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Major League star said at least one fan even used it as inspiration for his own sexual exploits.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI remember being at a Starbucks one time and there\u2019s some random guy behind me and he says, \u2018Hey, I just want to let you know that I\u2019m giving out gift baskets because you did,\u2019\u201d Jeter said during the interview with \u201cThe Captain.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd I turned around and said, \u2018You\u2019re a f***in\u2019 idiot!\u2019 And the look on his face. \u2026 Like, did he think I was gonna say, \u2018Yeah, good job, man!\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Jeter recently made headlines for finally joining Twitter in a hilarious way.
