The order asks the Federal Trade Commission to \u201cconsider actions\u201d to <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2022\/07\/08\/biden-to-issue-exec-order-to-protect-abortion-services-ap\/\">safeguard women\u2019s privacy<\/a> when they seek information on abortion. The order has a flurry of other provisions, including summoning activist lawyers to prepare for court brawls, but many observers considered the order \u201cvague.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Leftists are angry that Biden did not issue a decree making abortion legal based on . . . the majesty of the presidency, I guess. <\/p>\n<p>AOC and Sen. Elizabeth Warren called for <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2022\/06\/28\/white-house-rejects-push-to-permit-abortions-on-federal-lands\/\">setting up abortion clinics in national parks. <\/a>Advocates are pushing Biden to create travel vouchers for pregnant women, though federally-funded abortion tourism might not play well in swing states. <\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/07\/warren.jpg\"><\/a><figcaption>Elizabeth Warren and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez have pushed for abortion clinics to be erected in national parks. <\/figcaption><figcaption><span class=\"credit\">Charles Krupa\/AP<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Andrea Miller, president of the National Institute for Reproductive Health, declared, \u201cYou need to be willing to take some risks \u2014 even if the anticipation is it might not work.\u201d Sharmin Hossain of the Liberate Abortion Coalition, a group of more than 150 reproductive rights organizations, proclaimed, \u201cWe can\u2019t wait 190 days [until the election]. People need care now and that wait could mean life or death for people\u201d (not including fetuses).<\/p>\n<h2>Pressures from the left<\/h2>\n<p>Similarly, leftists are caterwauling for Biden to issue an executive order canceling almost $2 trillion in federal student loans <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2022\/05\/07\/bidens-student-loan-forgiveness-is-unfair-to-most-americans\/\">owed by 46 million people<\/a>. According to Democrats on Capitol Hill, every ex-student deserves to be treated like an oppressed victim to have all their debts canceled (even the damn lawyers). <\/p>\n<p>Biden has repeatedly decreed moratoriums so that ex-students don\u2019t have to pay a cent on their federal loans. As law professor Jonathan Turley observed, \u201cPresident Biden has arguably the worst record of losses in [federal court] the first two years of any recent presidential administration.\u201d<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li> On his first day in office, Biden issued an executive order compelling people to <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2022\/01\/13\/biden-launches-new-mask-push-2-years-into-covid\/\">wear face masks<\/a> any time they were on federal property. The edict had an unwritten Poohbah exemption. Biden went to the Lincoln Memorial a few hours after signing the order, he posed by the statue of Abraham Lincoln; neither Lincoln nor Biden were <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2021\/10\/18\/maskless-bidens-violate-dcs-indoor-mask-mandate\/\">wearing a mask<\/a>. Biden spokeswoman Jen Psaki scoffed at a reporter\u2019s concern over the apparent crime: \u201cHe was celebrating a historic day in our country . . . We have bigger things to worry about.\u201d Biden\u2019s order inflamed legions of junior Stasi who screamed in rage at anyone hiking in national parks without a mask. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module alignright\">\n\t<\/aside>\n<ul>\n<li>Biden issued an executive order last year proclaiming \u201cthe goal of conserving at least 30% of our lands and waters by 2030.\u201d That target would require almost tripling the amount of <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2021\/01\/30\/bidens-climate-executive-orders-devastated-these-us-workers\/\">land under government restrictions <\/a>\u2014 an area twice the size of the state of Texas. Farmers dread future decrees that could hogtie them worse than federal wetlands enforcement already does. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li> Last September, Biden decreed that every American working for a company with more than a hundred employees must<a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2022\/04\/07\/bidens-vaccination-mandate-for-government-workers-upheld\/\"> get a COVID vaccine injection.<\/a> The Supreme Court obliterated that mandate in January, ruling that there was no basis in federal law for his decree. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Last November, the Supreme Court struck down the Biden administration\u2019s attempt to perpetuate a <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2021\/08\/03\/aoc-urges-biden-to-use-executive-order-to-extend-eviction-moratorium\/\">national moratorium on evictions of renters<\/a>. Six Justices scoffed that the administration\u2019s legal defense relied \u201con a decades-old statute that authorizes . . . measures like fumigation and pest extermination.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>In April, federal judge Kathryn Kimball Mizelle struck down the Biden administration\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2022\/04\/18\/florida-federal-judge-strikes-down-cdc-airport-mask-mandate\/\">mask mandate for air travel<\/a>, ruling that agencies were not permitted to \u201cact unlawfully\u201d to justify even desirable ends.
