Ron DeSantis announced on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDespite the headwinds created by the Biden administration\u2019s policies, Florida is in a strong fiscal position because we preserved freedom and kept our economy open,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.flgov.com\/2022\/07\/07\/governor-ron-desantis-announces-record-surplus-for-fiscal-year-2021-22\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">said<\/a> DeSantis. \u201cOur responsible policies have allowed us to make record investments to support our communities, promote education, protect the environment, and provide record tax relief for Floridians, all while building record reserves to protect the state against the reckless fiscal policies from Washington.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Tax revenue in May came in at $742 million above estimates, and preliminary data for June collections are approximately $950 million above projections, the governor\u2019s office announced.
