It\u2019s already set itself apart as a platform that <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/03\/04\/leftists-demand-big-tech-preemptively-censor-trumps-truth-social\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">won\u2019t target users with politically-motivated censorship<\/a>, and now it is implementing a series of updates designed to further the app\u2019s marketability to creators and scrollers alike.<\/p>\n<p>Part of that goal includes an upgrade that rolls out Thursday morning and includes new profile carousels that curate a personalized list of accounts based on engagement and boosts creators, some of whom might have been nuked by Twitter, Facebook, or other Big Tech companies.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe want people coming to our platform and then going to other people\u2019s platforms. We see ourselves as the rising tide that lifts all the boats,\u201d Devin Nunes, former U.S. representative and now CEO of Trump Media &#038; Technology Group, which oversees Truth Social, told The Federalist. \u201cThe people who have been canceled and the people who have important things to say, we\u2019re not trying to trap you there.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>With longer videos, polls, GIFs, pinned posts, and more, Truth Social is creating a platform that is supposed to be \u201cso much easier to navigate\u201d and \u201cvery simple, very intuitive\u201d but one that \u201cdrives people back to you\u201d or your business.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou go over there and post something and you\u2019re likely being, to some degree, shadow banned by the algorithm that they use because you\u2019re not being curated into one\u2019s feed. And then there\u2019s just a limited number of people on there, especially not your average conservative,\u201d Nunes said. <\/p>\n<p>While Twitter and Facebook have become echo chambers for elites instead of a true public forum for \u201cnormal people,\u201d Nunes said Truth Social is focused on becoming \u201ca big place to go to\u201d for anyone who doesn\u2019t want their impressions stolen by Big Tech companies. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re giving a voice to people who are awesome content creators who really never had a chance. Besides, just between our meme makers and some of our funny guys, they\u2019re getting a lot more impressions and visits than they would ever get somewhere else,\u201d Nunes said.<\/p>\n<p>Not only does Nunes think Truth Social has a leg up on \u201cbot farms\u201d such as Twitter due to its newness, but he said out-of-touch Big Tech sites are becoming increasingly irrelevant to large swaths of the country. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe couldn\u2019t care less about Twitter. Most Americans are not on it. They know it\u2019s a bird and they see it on TV, and all the celeb types run their mouths, and news media picks it up. But average Americans are not on that platform,\u201d Nunes said. \u201c\u2026There are not normal people on Twitter.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to Nunes, Truth Social isn\u2019t just an experiment, it\u2019s a safe haven for speech. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cPresident Trump didn\u2019t need a new company, and I didn\u2019t need a new job,\u201d Nunes concluded. \u201cWe have a very simple mission. We\u2019re opening up the internet by giving the American people their voice back.
