While he is the director of the NIAID, they said, he didn\u2019t <em>personally <\/em>fund these experiments, which <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.whitecoatwaste.org\/2021\/10\/05\/wcw-investigation-fauci-wasted-1m-to-de-bark-poison-beagle-puppies\/\">reportedly<\/a> included feeding experimental drugs to puppies, <a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/latest-news\/nih-under-fire-for-2-million-painful-experiments-on-puppies\/\">injecting<\/a> dogs with cocaine, and cutting out their vocal cords so they couldn\u2019t bark during the abuse.<\/p>\n<p>But after pushback, <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.whitecoatwaste.org\/2022\/05\/23\/killed-for-a-runny-nose-wcw-discovers-5-new-fauci-funded-puppy-experiments\/\">five more<\/a> beagle experiments have been canceled, as confirmed in a <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.whitecoatwaste.org\/2022\/07\/05\/beaglegate-victory-nih-cancels-faucis-runny-nose-experiments-following-wcw-campaign\/\">letter<\/a> Fauci reportedly sent late last month, indicating that the media fact-checkers\u2019 \u201cnothing to see here\u201d attitude was all an obstruction. Though the \u201cfact-checking\u201d media attempted to distance a flailing Fauci \u2014 whose credibility had been completely shattered by his abysmal Covid response \u2014 from the unethical experiments on dogs, the reality is that as leader of the NIAID, Fauci is ultimately responsible for funding decisions.<\/p>\n<p>The latest five tests, reportedly for a new allergy medication for hay fever \u2014 or, as the White Coat Waste Project put it, a \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/blog.whitecoatwaste.org\/2022\/05\/23\/killed-for-a-runny-nose-wcw-discovers-5-new-fauci-funded-puppy-experiments\/\">runny nose<\/a>\u201d \u2014 were not required by the Food and Drug Administration, and at least one of the tests could have been done on guinea pigs. Besides subjecting puppies as young as six months old to unnecessary medical experiments, the tests would have cost taxpayers more than $1.8 million. <\/p>\n<p>After the White Coat Waste Project exposed the planned experiments, Iowa Republican Sen. Joni Ernst <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.whitecoatwaste.org\/2022\/06\/02\/instant-impact-following-wcw-investigation-sen-ernst-presses-fauci-on-runny-nose-puppy-experiments\/\">sent a letter<\/a> to Fauci\u2019s NIAID requesting details about the proposed tests and saying the \u201cinvasive, painful, and potentially deadly procedures\u201d appeared to be unnecessary. \u201cNIAID\u2019s contractor proposed an alternative, non-dog animal model to replace dogs for at least some testing,\u201d Ernst said, adding that the FDA stated it \u201cdoes not mandate that human drugs be studied in dogs.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Fauci <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.whitecoatwaste.org\/2022\/07\/05\/beaglegate-victory-nih-cancels-faucis-runny-nose-experiments-following-wcw-campaign\/\">responded<\/a> in a letter on June 22 saying that \u201cafter consultation with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, the company [commissioned to conduct the tests] elected to proceed using two rodent models only,\u201d adding, \u201cNo experiments utilizing the canine model are being conducted under this contract.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI want to assure you that NIH and NIAID take the welfare of animals in research very seriously,\u201d Fauci claimed in the letter.
