While the form does not require documented proof of citizenship, it does ask under penalty of perjury whether or not one is a citizen.<\/p>\n<p>Ducey\u2019s office said during the 2020 presidential election, approximately 11,600 federal-only voters in Arizona cast a ballot without having to show proof of citizenship.<\/p>\n<p>Arizona used to require proof of citizenship to vote in federal elections. Still, the Supreme Court struck down the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.supremecourt.gov\/opinions\/12pdf\/12-71_7l48.pdf\">law<\/a>\u00a010 years ago, holding that it violated the National Voter Registration Act.<\/p>\n<p>But Brnovich and other state officials are fighting back.<\/p>\n<p>Shortly after the DOJ announced its latest lawsuit against Arizona, Brnovich said he\u2019s ready to go toe-to-toe with the Biden administration in court.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s another round of Brnovich v.
