Wade<\/em> case and ending the federally guaranteed right to abortion.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou may say I\u2019m being crazy,\u201d Stewart began, before reasoning that if life trumps personal autonomy, and organ donations save lives, the pro-life movement could now \u201cgo to a person and say, \u2018Give me one of your kidneys because it\u2019s going to save this person\u2019s life.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Yes, you&#8217;re &#8216;crazy&#8217;: <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/jonstewart?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@jonstewart<\/a> claims overturning Roe now means the government can forcefully harvest your organs <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/ouM5s826F9\">https:\/\/t.co\/ouM5s826F9<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Nicholas Fondacaro (@NickFondacaro) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/NickFondacaro\/status\/1544466291469205505?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">July 5, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Stewart went on to blast the Court as corrupt, calling it the \u201cFox News of justice,\u201d and agreed when one of his writers called SCOTUS \u201cbulls***.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Supreme Court on June 24 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/united-states-supreme-court-overturns-roe-v-wade-leaves-abortion-restrictions-to-states\">voted 6-3 to uphold a Mississippi law<\/a> limiting abortions to the first 15 weeks of pregnancy. In doing so, a five-justice majority overruled <em>Roe v. Wade<\/em> and determined that the right to allow, regulate or even ban abortion resides with states, not the federal government.<\/p>\n<p>Stewart accused conservative justices of \u201cperjury\u201d by refusing to disclose their opinions about abortion during their Senate confirmation hearings.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt would\u2019ve been one thing if [the justices] sat in the confirmation hearings and said, \u2018My entire ideological bearing is that life begins at conception and that abortion should be made legal,\u2019\u201d Stewart said. \u201cAnd at the very least, you would respect their honesty and integrity, but this makes the Court a cynical pursuit.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Judicial nominees from across the ideological spectrum have long been careful to say how they would rule on particular issues, mindful of the fact that cases that come before the Court are fact-specific. Newest member of the Court, Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson, even <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/im-not-a-biologist-supreme-court-nominee-says-she-cant-define-the-word-woman\">famously refused to answer<\/a> when asked what a woman is during her confirmation hearing.<\/p>\n<p>Stewart also claimed the Right has no true legal scholars and that constitutional originalists like justices Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito hide behind the words of the Constitution.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe reason they call themselves originalists is the same reason they quote the Bible: it\u2019s dogma, it\u2019s dead people, it\u2019s people you cannot argue with,\u201d Stewart said. \u201cThis text is \u2014 it\u2019s fundamentalism. It\u2019s saying this text is sacrosanct.
