Why,\u201d the email reads.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">An inadvertent style note on capitalized pool reports from the White House press office: <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/hhTXNvwLIb\">pic.twitter.com\/hhTXNvwLIb<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Philip Melanchthon Wegmann (@PhilipWegmann) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/PhilipWegmann\/status\/1544399969767104512?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">July 5, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/06\/30\/white-house-journalists-sign-letter-demanding-reopen-press-joe-biden\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Seventy journalists recently signed a letter<\/a> to press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre requesting increased access to traditional White House venues and key events.<\/p>\n<p>Reporters asked that traditional venues and major events on the grounds be reopened after having been largely restricted throughout the <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/05\/20\/joe-biden-100-days-without-sit-down-interview-media-milestone\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Biden<\/a> administration.<strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/06\/16\/reporter-asks-biden-wont-answer-questions-from-press\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: \u2018What Are You Afraid Of?\u2019: Reporter Asks Biden Why He Won\u2019t Answer Questions From The Press)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe current method of allowing a limited number of reporters into these events is not only restrictive and antithetical to the concept of a free press, but it has been done without any transparent process into how reporters are selected to cover these events,\u201d the letter read. \u201cWe are all left wondering who is making these decisions and what are the criteria on which they are based?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The letter also demanded President <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/06\/08\/joe-biden-democrat-strategist-blunder-crisis\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Joe Biden<\/a> allow reporters to personally interact with him without having to fill out a request prior to the event.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_7466321\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\">\n<p id=\"caption-attachment-7466321\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">U.S. President Joe Biden speaks prior to awarding Medals of Honor to U.S. Army veterans who fought in the Vietnam War, during a ceremony in the East Room at the White House in Washington, U.S., July 5, 2022. REUTERS\/Kevin Lamarque<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>\u201cThe incongruity of these restrictions underscores the belief by many reporters that the administration seeks to limit access to the president by anyone outside of the pool, or anyone who might ask a question the administration doesn\u2019t want to answer,\u201d the letter read. \u201cLet us be candid. Our job is not to be liked, nor is it to be concerned about whether or not you like what we ask.
