It\u2019s 8:15 on Wednesday night. If you have a chance give me a call. Nothing urgent\u2014I just wanted to talk with you,&#8221; Biden is heard saying in a voicemail from 2018. &#8220;I thought the article released online, it\u2019s going to be printed tomorrow in the Times, was good. I think you\u2019re clear.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/federal-investigation-continues-into-hunter-biden-even-after-paid-tax-bill\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong><u>FEDERAL INVESTIGATION CONTINUES INTO HUNTER BIDEN EVEN AFTER HE PAID HIS TAX BILL<\/u><\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The article Biden was referring to was published by the New York Times in December 2018 and reported a private meeting between the chairman of a now-defunct <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/hunter-biden-requested-keys-new-office-mates-joe-biden-chinese-emissary-cefc-chairman\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Chinese energy company, CEFC,<\/a> and Hunter Biden at a Miami hotel in May 2017.<\/p>\n<p>When asked about the voicemail, Jean-Pierre was asked why there was a voicemail of Biden speaking to Hunter Biden about his business dealings if the president has repeatedly said he has never spoken to his son about his business ventures.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Well, first, I\u2019ll say that what the president said stands,&#8221; Jean-Pierre said. &#8220;So, if he, if that\u2019s what the president said, that, that is what stands.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/hunter-biden-business-associate-text-messages-joe-biden-meeting\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong><u>HUNTER BIDEN BUSINESS ASSOCIATE&#8217;S TEXT MESSAGES INDICATE MEETING WITH JOE BIDEN<\/u><\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>When pressed further, Jean-Pierre said she was &#8220;not going to talk about alleged materials from the laptop&#8221; from &#8220;the podium.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>When asked by Fox News if she was disputing that it was, in fact, Biden\u2019s voice on the voicemail, Jean-Pierre said: &#8220;I\u2019m not going to talk about alleged materials on the laptop.&#8221;<\/p>\n<div class=\"image-ct inline\">\n<div class=\"m\"><source media=\"(max-width: 767px)\" \/><source media=\"(min-width: 767px) and (max-width: 1023px)\" \/><source media=\"(min-width: 1024px) and (max-width: 1279px)\" \/><source media=\"(min-width: 1280px)\" \/><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/a57.foxnews.com\/static.foxnews.com\/foxnews.com\/content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/640\/320\/ap21035470994578.jpg?ve=1&#038;tl=1\" alt=\"Then Vice President-elect, Sen. Joe Biden, D-Del., left, stands with his son Hunter during a re-enactment of the Senate oath ceremony in the Old Senate Chamber on Capitol Hill in Washington on Jan. 6, 2009.<br \/>\n      <span class=\"copyright\">(AP Photo\/Charles Dharapak, File)<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Biden administration officials and those in the president\u2019s camp have cast materials that came from the laptop purportedly belonging to Hunter Biden as disinformation, but intelligence community officials have said, as far back as October 2020, that neither the laptop nor materials on it are part of any sort of disinformation campaign.<\/p>\n<p>Hunter Biden has been under federal investigation for his &#8220;tax affairs&#8221; since 2018, according to a source familiar with the matter.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Fox News first reported in December 2020 that Biden was a subject\/target of the grand jury investigation, a well-placed government source told Fox News. According to the source, a &#8220;target&#8221; means that there is a &#8220;high probability that person committed a crime,&#8221; while a &#8220;subject&#8221; is someone you &#8220;don\u2019t know for sure&#8221; has committed a crime.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The federal investigation into Hunter Biden was predicated, in part, by Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) regarding suspicious foreign transactions.<\/p>\n<p>Another source familiar with the investigation told Fox News in December 2020 that the SARs were regarding funds from &#8220;China and other foreign nations.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/hunter-biden-tax-affairs-under-federal-investigation\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong><u>HUNTER BIDEN UNDER FEDERAL INVESTIGATION FOR &#8216;TAX AFFAIRS;&#8217; LINKS TO CHINA FUNDS EMERGE, SOURCES SAY<\/u><\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>A Treasury Department official, who did not comment on the investigation, spoke broadly about SARs, telling Fox News that\u00a0SARs are\u00a0filed by financial\u00a0institutions &#8220;if there is something out of the ordinary about a particular transaction.&#8221;\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The official told Fox News that the mere filing of a SAR does not mean there has been a criminal act, or violation of regulations, but instead, flags that a transaction is &#8220;out of the ordinary&#8221; for the customer.\u00a0The official noted, though, that a SAR could be part of a money laundering or\u00a0tax investigation.<\/p>\n<div class=\"image-ct inline\">\n<div class=\"m\"><source media=\"(max-width: 767px)\" \/><source media=\"(min-width: 767px) and (max-width: 1023px)\" \/><source media=\"(min-width: 1024px) and (max-width: 1279px)\" \/><source media=\"(min-width: 1280px)\" \/><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/a57.foxnews.com\/static.foxnews.com\/foxnews.com\/content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/640\/320\/HunterBiden-JoeBiden.jpg?ve=1&#038;tl=1\" alt=\"In this Nov. 7, 2020, file photo, President-elect Joe Biden, right, embraces his son Hunter Biden, left, in Wilmington, Del.
