Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), to provide witness testimony before a grand jury regarding disputes following the U.S. presidential election in 2020, according to court documents filed on July 5.<\/p>\n<p>The court also requested the testimony of several attornies who worked with the former president during the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/t-2020-election\">2020 election<\/a> lawsuits, including former law professor John Eastman, Cleta Mitchell, Kenneth Chesebro, and Jenna Ellis. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ajc.com\/politics\/fulton-grand-jury-subpoenas-giuliani-graham-trump-confidantes\/POUNSTTUXZDGDB3D5LKA7TIQQM\/\">The Atlanta Journal-Constitution<\/a> first reported the court orders.<\/p>\n<p>Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis, a Democrat, first revealed her office\u2019s probe of the former president\u2019s advisors in February 2021 in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.documentcloud.org\/documents\/20476518-fulton-da-letter-to-gov-kemp\">letter<\/a> addressed to Georgia Governor Republican Gov. Brian Kemp, in which Willis alleged that Trump\u2019s affiliates attempted to interfere with the administration of the 2020 election.<\/p>\n<p>Willis then petitioned in January 2022 that a \u201cspecial purpose grand jury\u201d be impaneled to investigate the matter. A majority of Fulton County Superior Court judges <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/georgia-prosecutor-granted-grand-jury-to-investigate-trumps-alleged-election-interference_4235250.html\">agreed<\/a> to Willis\u2019s request, according to Chief Judge Christopher Brasher.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Special Purpose Grand Jury is authorized to investigate any and all facts and circumstances relating directly or indirectly to possible attempts to disrupt the lawful administration of the 2020 elections in the State of Georgia,\u201d court documents containing the requests for appearance stated.<\/p>\n<p>Willis said in a letter to Brasher that the grand jury was required because \u201ca significant number of witnesses and prospective witnesses have refused to cooperate with the investigation absent a subpoena requiring their testimony.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In its request for Giuliani\u2019s appearance, the court stated that \u201cthere is evidence\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>An Atlanta-area grand jury has subpoenaed members of former President Donald Trump\u2019s allies and former legal advisors, including a sitting senator and the former mayor of New York City.
