Hanks is currently in theaters in the \u201cElvis\u201d movie where he plays Elvis\u2019 manager, Colonel Tom Parker.<\/p>\n<p>Hanks said he was looking forward to going \u201chead-to-head\u201d with his former co-star from the \u201cToy Story\u201d franchise, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/topic\/tim-allen\">Allen<\/a>. In the animated films, Hanks was the voice of the cowboy toy Woody, and his best friend is Buzz Lightyear, a role voiced by the \u201cHome Improvement\u201d star.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHow \u2019bout that?\u201d Hanks explained. \u201cWhy it\u2019s not\u2026actually I wanted to go head-to-head with Tim Allen, and then they didn\u2019t let Tim Allen do it. I don\u2019t understand that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>When pressed by the interviewer about <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/heres-why-tim-allen-wasnt-picked-to-voice-buzz-lightyear-in-lightyear-movie\">Allen<\/a> being replaced by the \u201cAvengers: Endgame\u201d star, Hanks said, \u201cYeah, yeah, I know.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>WATCH:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut here\u2019s the thing, just as long as people come back to the motion picture theater,\u201d Hanks said. \u201cI want to go back in the theater with a bunch of strangers and leave with something in common.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat\u2019s what I want to do,\u201d he added. \u201cAnd going to see a movie with him, I\u2019m looking forward to that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Allen recently broke his silence on Evans voicing the iconic spaceman in the origin-based film. He said there\u2019s \u201cno connection\u201d to his famed character in the \u201cToy Story\u201d franchise, though he wished there was, as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/tim-allen-finally-weighs-in-on-lightyear-says-theres-no-relationship-to-buzz-and-famed-character\">The Daily Wire<\/a> previously reported.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe short answer is I\u2019ve stayed out of this because it has nothing to do [with my character],\u201d the \u201cLast Man Standing\u201d star shared. \u201cThis is a whole new team that really had nothing to do with the first movies.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s a wonderful story,\u201d he added of the new movie. \u201cIt just doesn\u2019t seem to have any connection to the toy, and it\u2019s a little \u2026 I don\u2019t know. It just has no relationship to Buzz. It\u2019s just no connection.
