Pelosi recently attempted to justify skyrocketing inflation under President Joe Biden by saying that &#8220;when unemployment goes down, inflation goes up,&#8221; a claim that PolitiFact <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politifact.com\/factchecks\/2022\/may\/17\/nancy-pelosi\/nancy-pelosi-repeats-outdated-economic-theory-link\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">rated<\/a> mostly false, and blaming Russia&#8217;s invasion of Ukraine. Inflation started surging under Biden months before Russia&#8217;s invasion, the <em>Washington Free Beacon<\/em> has <a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/biden-administration\/inflation-surges-to-40-year-high\/\">reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Silver&#8217;s <em>FiveThirtyEight<\/em> model\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/projects.fivethirtyeight.com\/2022-election-forecast\/senate\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">projects<\/a> that Republicans have a 54 percent chance of winning the Senate. The model rates Pennsylvania, Georgia, and Nevada as tossups. The election forecaster says that Republicans have a 90 percent chance of victory in Ohio and a 94 percent chance in Florida.
