His mark of 63 hot dogs fell far short of his world-record-setting performance at last year\u2019s contest when he finished 76 within 10 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>Chestnut competed with a tendon injury in his leg, surprising fans on Friday when he showed up to the event\u2019s official weigh-in on crutches and wearing a medical boot.<\/p>\n<p>Miki Sudo, an eight-time Nathan\u2019s champion, won the women\u2019s division held on Sunday, according to the <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2022\/07\/04\/joey-chestnut-wins-15th-nathans-hot-dog-eating-contest\/\">New York Post<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The annual Nathan\u2019s Hot Dog Eating Contest returned to its usual venue at Nathan\u2019s in Coney Island, Brooklyn, this year for the first time since 2019.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s beautiful to be back here,\u201d Chestnut told <a href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/espn\/story\/_\/id\/34193679\/joey-jaws-chestnut-slowed-injury-captures-15th-fourth-july-hot-dog-eating-contest-title-eating-63-franks-buns\">ESPN<\/a> in front of a crowd of supporters. The hot dog-eating legend said his injury slowed him down the stretch.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt hurts, but I was in the zone for a little bit.
