So let\u2019s talk about what\u2019s going on in America,\u201d Newsom says in the thirty-second spot. \u201cFreedom is under attack in your state.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI urge all of you living in Florida to join the fight \u2014 or join us in California, where we still believe in freedom: freedom of speech, freedom to choose, freedom from hate, and the freedom to love,\u201d Newsom concluded. \u201cDon\u2019t let them take your freedom.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The ad is being paid for by Newsom for California Governor 2022. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.latimes.com\/politics\/story\/2022-07-03\/join-us-in-california-newsom-to-air-ads-in-florida\">According<\/a> to the Los Angeles Times, it is Newsom\u2019s first television spot of the general election. It is scheduled to run on Florida\u2019s Fox News cable zones beginning on Independence Day.<\/p>\n<p>Medium Buying <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/MediumBuying\/status\/1541540195669098496\">noted<\/a> the price tag of $105,000 for the ad\u2019s airing.<\/p>\n<p>According to a new CNN report, Newsom believes DeSantis will run for president.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe\u2019s running for president,\u201d Newsom <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2022\/07\/03\/politics\/gavin-newsom-ron-desantis-ad-2024\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">told<\/a> CNN last week. \u201cI care about people. I don\u2019t like people being treated as less of them. I don\u2019t like people being told they\u2019re not worthy. I don\u2019t like people being used as political pawns. This is not just about him, but he is the poster child of it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Dave Abrams, a spokesperson for Florida Republican Governor Ron DeSantis\u2019 campaign, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/newsom-buys-ad-space-in-florida-desantis-campaign-responds\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">told<\/a> The Daily Wire, \u201cGavin Newsom might as well light a pile of cash on fire. We\u2019re too busy enjoying the freedom Governor Ron DeSantis has created in the Sunshine State,\u201d Abrams added.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The bold television launch has some speculating Newsom could have his eyes set on a White House run for 2024.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGavin Newsom had to know that this would signal that people would interpret or misinterpret his actions as presidential campaign ambitions,\u201d James Taylor, USF\u2019s Political Science professor, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbclosangeles.com\/news\/california-news\/gavin-newsom-california-florida\/2929760\/?_osource=SocialFlowTwt_LABrand\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">told<\/a> NBC 4 Los Angeles on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAfter the recall, Newsom got stronger, and I suggested off the bat that it strengthened his position to run for national office,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Newsom has recently downplayed his interest in a 2024 run for the Oval Office.
