Critics say the administration has helped create the high gas prices by cutting production in the U.S. in favor of anti-fossil fuel environmental policies.<\/p>\n<p>Biden\u2019s latest bid to blame factors beyond his control for the price of gas, which has topped $5 a gallon in recent weeks, pinned the blame on gas stations.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy message to the companies running gas stations and setting prices at the pump is simple: this is a time of war and global peril,\u201d Biden said. \u201cBring down the price you are charging at the pump to reflect the cost you\u2019re paying for the product. And do it now.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In May, Bezos rebuked Biden on the same issue \u2013 inflation. That clapback came after Biden said wealthy companies \u2013 presumably including Bezos\u2019 online retail giant Amazon \u2013 don\u2019t pay their fair share of taxes.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou want to bring down inflation?\u201d Biden tweeted. \u201cLet\u2019s make sure the wealthiest corporations pay their fair share.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Bezos responded by saying Biden was confused on Econ 101.
