Wade<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>After the Supreme Court <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/roe-v-wade-is-history-but-the-abortion-debate-reveals-rot-at-americas-center\">overturned the monumental case<\/a>\u00a0a week ago, sending the power to decide abortion laws back to the states, progressive lawmakers including Rep. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/topic\/alexandria-ocasio-cortez\">Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez <\/a>\u00a0(D-NY) and Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) quickly called on President Joe Biden to take action.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYeah, I\u2019ll start with the babiest of the babiest of baby steps.\u00a0Open abortion clinics on federal lands in red states right now,\u201d Ocasio-Cortez\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/media\/conservatives-roast-aocs-demanding-abortion-clinics-federal-lands-red-states-toddler\">yelled<\/a> into a microphone amid a crowd of pro-abortion protestors, though the\u00a0Hyde Amendment <a href=\"https:\/\/www.congress.gov\/bill\/117th-congress\/house-bill\/2471\/text\">prohibits<\/a> the use of federal funds for abortions.<\/p>\n<p><strong>WATCH:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">ALEXANDRIA OCASIO-CORTEZ: \u201cOpen abortion clinics on federal lands in red states right now!\u201d <\/p>\n<p>\u201cRight now!\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/sFvl101mSt\">pic.twitter.com\/sFvl101mSt<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 RNC Research (@RNCResearch) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RNCResearch\/status\/1541819629852672002?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">June 28, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<p>GOP lawmakers are moving to block any such effort.<\/p>\n<p>Led by Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO), Republican lawmakers introduced <a href=\"https:\/\/www.scribd.com\/document\/580668806\/Protecting-Life-on-Federal-Lands-Act\">legislation<\/a> Friday\u00a0\u201cto prohibit any head of a federal agency or department from leasing certain federal property to abortion providing organizations, and for other purposes.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The \u201cProtecting Life on Federal Lands Act,\u201d first obtained by The Daily Wire, defines federal property as any territory, possession, building, property, or land owned by the United States or a department or agency of the District of Columbia.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe radical left believes in abortion at all cost,\u201d Boebert said in a statement to The Daily Wire. \u201cAOC, Senator Pocahontas, and the rest of the Genocide Squad will not rest until every baby in America is at risk.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI believe that America\u2019s unborn sons and daughters who are our future should be protected,\u201d she continued. \u201cMy bill ensures extremists won\u2019t be able to use federal lands and military bases to circumvent the SCOTUS decision and perform abortions.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Co-sponsors include GOP House Republican Conference Chair Elise Stefanik and Republicans Jody Hice (R-GA), Bob Good (R-VA), Mary Miller (R-IL), Doug Lamborn (R-CO), Ken Buck (R-CO), Jeff Duncan (R-SC), Warren Davidson (R-OH), and Matt Rosendale (R-MT).<\/p>\n<p>On Tuesday, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2022\/06\/28\/politics\/white-house-federal-lands-abortion\/index.html\">rejected<\/a> the notion that the president would allow abortions to take place on federal property in defiance of state bans.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe understand the proposal is well-intentioned, but here\u2019s the thing: It could actually put women and providers at risk,\u201d said Jean-Pierre from aboard Air Force One.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-403666\" class=\"wp-image-403666\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/GettyImages-1241626528-832x576.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"652\" height=\"451\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/GettyImages-1241626528-832x576-1.jpg 832w, https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/GettyImages-1241626528-300x208-1.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/GettyImages-1241626528-768x532-1.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/GettyImages-1241626528-1536x1063-1.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/GettyImages-1241626528-2048x1418-1.jpg 2048w\" \/><\/p>\n<p id=\"caption-attachment-403666\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">US President Joe Biden (C) walks with officials as he prepares to board Airforce One at Madrid-Torrejon Airport in Madrid on June 30, 2022, after attending a summit of The North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO). And so this is, as we understand why they would put forward this proposal, there\u2019s actually dangerous ramifications to doing this.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Jean-Pierre also noted that Biden does not support expanding the Supreme Court, nor has he changed his stance on eliminating the filibuster, and\u00a0Vice President Kamala Harris <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2022\/06\/27\/politics\/kamala-harris-dana-bash-cnntv\/index.html\">said<\/a> Monday that the Biden administration was not discussing whether to establish abortion clinics on federal lands.<\/p>\n<p>The Hyde Amendment bans the use of federal funding for abortions unless\u00a0\u201cthe life of the mother would be endangered if the fetus were carried to term or where the pregnancy is the result of an act of rape or incest.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Early on in his career,Biden formerly referenced his faith as a reason for his pro-life votes in the Senate.
