Beginning on the ship\u2019s fifth floor at 2:00 in the morning, the brawl \u201clasted about an hour\u201d and \u201ctook the parties involved\u201d all the way to the first floor, according to the outlet.<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">last nights festivities on my carnival cruise \ud83e\udd73\ud83d\udef3 <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/uehhfmCfaC\">pic.twitter.com\/uehhfmCfaC<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 naim (@nyeem0) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/nyeem0\/status\/1541778075054129155?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">June 28, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cBottles were smashed and a woman was also cut in the melee, although no serious injuries were reported,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/article-10967953\/60-person-brawl-Carnival-Cruise-ship-dance-floor-lasted-HOUR-began-cheating-lover.html\">The Daily Mail<\/a> summarized. \u201cA couple of ship security guards attempted to break up the fight where they could \u2014 however, they were vastly outnumbered.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>James \u2014 calling the brawlers \u201cignorant fools acting stupid\u201d \u2014 estimated that up to 60 people may have been involved and credited security with ending the altercation.<\/p>\n<p>One Twitter user <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/nyeem0\/status\/1541787752286535680\">recounted<\/a> that he was \u201cat the bar listening to my own music sipping a shirley temple,\u201d when \u201cthe brawl broke out of nowhere.\u201d Passengers were \u201csquabbling for sureeee, injured and cut up from glass.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>With respect to the security guards who attempted to stop the melee, the user <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/nyeem0\/status\/1541789900814667778\">commented<\/a> that \u201cthey don\u2019t pay them enough to get caught in the crossfire lol,\u201d even though \u201che was trying to stop em.\u201d The individual \u201cwent to the dj booth and asked to make a request.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2022\/06\/28\/carnival-cruise-ship-docks-in-nyc-after-dance-floor-brawl\/\">The New York Post<\/a>, the U.S. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/topic\/coast-guard\">Coast Guard<\/a> was called and managed to escort the ship into a Manhattan port. New York Police Department (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/topic\/nypd\">NYPD<\/a>) officers were present as passengers left the ship, which was returning to the East Coast after departing from New Jersey and traveling to several Caribbean islands.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLast night while Carnival Magic was returning to New York, a number of guests were involved in an altercation in a nightclub,\u201d the cruise company said in a statement. \u201cThankfully no serious injuries were reported and our onboard security team intervened. The ship arrived as scheduled this morning and shoreside law enforcement authorities were notified and met the ship to interview suspects and witnesses and conduct an investigation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Law enforcement is still attempting to determine which jurisdiction will be responsible for prosecuting the incident.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo information was immediately available on arrests,\u201d The New York Post reported. \u201cOfficials could not confirm by the afternoon whether the fight would be handled by the NYPD, New Jersey authorities, or if it happened in international waters.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnewyork.com\/news\/local\/dance-floor-brawl-on-nyc-bound-cruise-ship-sparks-emergency-response\/3752985\/\">NBC New York<\/a>, \u201cno injuries were reported and no weapons were involved.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNeither the Coast Guard nor the NYPD boarded the vessel,\u201d the outlet added. \u201cPassengers disembarked without further incident upon their NYC arrival Tuesday.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Carnival Magic was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.carnival.com\/cruise-ships\/carnival-magic\">constructed<\/a> in 2011 and registered in Panama. The vessel, which can carry 130,000 in gross tonnage, can host over 3,600 guests and 1,386 crew members for trips that last from two to nine days.
