James Comer (R-KY), the Ranking Member of the House Committee on Oversight and Reform, cited the bombshell 2018 voicemail between Joe and Hunter Biden that was revealed this week as an additional reason he would target the Biden family.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEvidence continues to mount that Joe Biden is the \u2018Big Guy\u2019 and received a cut from his family\u2019s suspicious foreign business deals,\u201d Comer told <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/article-10966711\/GOP-Rep-James-Comer-Joes-voicemail-Hunter-proof-knew-sons-foreign-deals.html\">The Daily Mail<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>President Biden has consistently denied discussing his son\u2019s foreign business dealings; on April 5 then-White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/briefing-room\/press-briefings\/2022\/04\/05\/press-briefing-by-press-secretary-jen-psaki-april-5-2022\/\">answered<\/a> \u201cYes\u201d when asked \u201cThe President has said that he never spoke to his son about his overseas business dealings.\u00a0 Is that still the case?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Yet the voicemail featured Joe Biden speaking to his son about a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2018\/12\/12\/business\/cefc-biden-china-washington-ye-jianming.html\">New York Times story<\/a> revolving around Hunter\u2019s dealings with the Chinese oil company CEFC.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c\u2019Hey pal, it\u2019s Dad. It\u2019s 8:15 on Wednesday night. If you get a chance just give me a call. Nothing urgent. I just wanted to talk to you,\u201d Biden told his son in the voicemail. \u201cI thought the article released online, it\u2019s going to be printed tomorrow in the Times, was good. I think you\u2019re clear. And anyway if you get a chance give me a call. I love you.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ve uncovered evidence revealing the [commingling] of Hunter and Joe Biden\u2019s finances and the voicemail unearthed recently is just further proof Joe Biden knew about his son\u2019s wheeling and dealing with foreign adversaries,\u201d Comer asserted.<\/p>\n<p>Hunter\u2019s abandoned laptop revealed he made a multi-million deal with CEFC after bragging about his family connections; the Times\u2019 2018 story noted CEFC chairman Ye Jianming \u201ccourted the Biden family and networked with former United States security officials.\u201d The Times continued, \u201cMr. Ye is in Chinese custody and is under investigation for unspecified crimes. The trial and conviction in New York last week of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2018\/12\/05\/business\/cefc-china-patrick-ho.html\">one of his top lieutenants, Patrick Ho<\/a>, showed that company officials used bribery to win oil and energy contracts in Africa.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLast year, as American authorities\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2017\/11\/21\/business\/china-energy-cefc.html\">closed in on Mr. Ye\u2019s company,<\/a>\u00a0the first call made by one of his emissaries in custody was to Mr. Biden\u2019s brother,\u201d The Times noted.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe will continue to investigate the Biden family\u2019s shady business deals as more facts emerge,\u201d Comer stated. \u201cIf Americans entrust Republicans with the majority, we will use the power of the gavel to get answers about the Biden family\u2019s pattern of placing profit over country to determine if President Biden is compromised by these deals.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The GOP congressman who said he will lead Congressional investigations into the allegedly shady foreign dealings of Hunter Biden and Joe Biden\u2019s awareness of them granted a 2022 GOP victory issued a statement declaring his determination to aggressively pursue the Biden family.
