Ron Johnson and Chuck Grassley are doubling down on their quest to get to the bottom of Biden\u2019s secret, non-government emails that could have played a role in enriching the Biden family business. <\/p>\n<p>In a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ronjohnson.senate.gov\/services\/files\/AECCDFD8-2129-45EB-A18F-B11EB81CC902\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">letter<\/a> to\u00a0Richard\u00a0Sauber, special\u00a0counsel to\u00a0the\u00a0president, the ranking member of the\u00a0Senate\u00a0Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations and the ranking member of the Committee on the Judiciary explained how they were continually refused by the Biden administration the opportunity to investigate the president\u2019s actions further. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn fact, the White House Counsel\u2019s office has even refused to join a phone call with our respective staff to discuss our request for information. For example, on April 25, 2022, then-Deputy Counsel to the President, Jonathan Su told our offices, \u2018Our position remains unchanged and we will circle back if we have updates to share. We do not believe there is a need for a call on this matter.\u2019 Our respective staff have requested that the White House define what its \u2018position\u2019 is; however, to-date the White House has failed to answer,\u201d the senators <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ronjohnson.senate.gov\/services\/files\/AECCDFD8-2129-45EB-A18F-B11EB81CC902\">wrote<\/a>.  <\/p>\n<p>This lack of cooperation, the senators wrote, and \u201cthe White House\u2019s failure to respond to our initial questions has raised even more questions with respect to the universe of communications that then-Vice President Biden engaged in with his family while he was Vice President and whether those communications have continued during his presidency.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Johnson and Grassley gave Sauber until July 12 to answer their questions about whether Biden \u201cproperly stored and archived\u201d his government-related emails and if he still uses unofficial addresses and pseudonyms to keep his family in the loop about official White House business.<\/p>\n<p>The letter comes shortly after a report found that Biden <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/06\/29\/joe-bidens-voicemail-to-hunter-means-its-time-to-appoint-a-special-counsel\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">left a voicemail<\/a> for Hunter telling him he\u2019s \u201cin the clear\u201d after a New York Times article was published in 2018 about Hunter\u2019s corrupt Chinese business partners Ye Jianming and Patrick Ho. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cHey pal, it\u2019s Dad. It\u2019s 8:15 on Wednesday night. If you get a chance just give me a call. Nothing urgent. I just wanted to talk to you. I thought the article released online, it\u2019s going to be printed tomorrow in the Times, was good. I think you\u2019re clear.
