Wade<\/em>, leftists are lying to women that they will no longer receive life-saving healthcare in the case of an ectopic pregnancy or miscarriage, even though states with abortion restrictions do not criminalize those treatments.<\/p>\n<p>Meghan Markle is just one of the many purveyors of such dangerous disinformation that stems from outrage over the court\u2019s <em>Dobbs v. Jackson <\/em>decision. In a recent interview with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vogue.com\/article\/gloria-steinem-duchess-of-sussex-jessica-yellin-roe-v-wade\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Vogue<\/a>, Markle claimed \u201cnobody should be forced to make a decision they do not want to make, or is unsafe, or puts their own life in jeopardy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI know what miscarrying feels like, which I\u2019ve talked about publicly,\u201d she said. \u201cThe more that we normalize conversation about the things that affect our lives and bodies, the more people are going to understand how necessary it is to have protections in place.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Several other people from pop singer <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/music\/2022\/jun\/25\/so-many-women-are-going-to-die-olivia-rodrigo-lambasts-roe-vs-wade-decision-at-glastonbury\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Olivia Rodrigo<\/a> to New York Rep. <a href=\"https:\/\/news.yahoo.com\/aoc-slams-scotus-abortion-decision-143551657.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez<\/a> to the <a href=\"https:\/\/sfmayor.org\/article\/san-francisco%E2%80%99s-response-scotus-abortion-access-ruling\">San Francisco Mayor\u2019s office and its Department of the Status of Women<\/a> to <a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/regulation\/court-battles\/3539498-hillary-clinton-on-abortion-ruling-women-will-die\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Hillary Clinton<\/a> peddled the lie that women \u201care going to die\u201d in states where abortion was automatically banned via \u201ctrigger\u201d laws following the release of<em> Dobbs<\/em>.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<span class=\"rUTsp8gZAWSCk5HXVlBR2ditLqIvGJ7bQKeuEz\"><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">.<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/HillaryClinton?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@HillaryClinton<\/a>: &#8220;I went to law school with [Justice Thomas]. It changes the status of American women as citizens of the United States and as citizens of their states. That\u2019s the big picture, but let\u2019s not mince words. Women will die because of this ruling,\u201d ABC senior correspondent Terry Moran\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/media\/abcs-terry-moran-women-will-die-supreme-court-ruling-roe-v-wade\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">said<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Thirteen states, Arkansas, Idaho, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, and Wyoming, had <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/us-news\/ng-interactive\/2022\/jun\/28\/tracking-where-abortion-laws-stand-in-every-state\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">prearranged<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/us-news\/ng-interactive\/2022\/jun\/28\/tracking-where-abortion-laws-stand-in-every-state\"> abortion bans called \u201ctrigger laws\u201d<\/a> that would immediately go into effect if <em>Roe<\/em> was ever overturned. <\/p>\n<p>All of those states, except Tennessee which makes abortion exceptions if a mother\u2019s life is in danger, included caveats that explicitly noted that complications such as ectopic pregnancies, which are fatal to the mother if left untreated, did not fall under the new restrictions. <\/p>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.patreon.com\/posts\/exceptions-to-64553251\">research by Daniel Gump<\/a> informed by state statutes, even 35 states, most without trigger laws, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.patreon.com\/posts\/exceptions-to-64553251\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">explicitly state<\/a> that miscarriages do not fall under the purview of \u201cinduced abortion\u201d bans. <\/p>\n<p>There is a clear legal distinction between an induced abortion, which deliberately intends to end the life of the baby, and the medically classified \u201cspontaneous abortions\u201d such as an ectopic pregnancy, miscarriage, early delivery with the intent of saving the baby and\/or mother, and preventing implantation of a fertilized egg.<\/p>\n<p>Even with that distinction, 48 of the 50 states have clear <a href=\"https:\/\/www.guttmacher.org\/fact-sheet\/state-facts-about-abortion-oregon\">exceptions for induced abortion<\/a> if a mother\u2019s life is in serious jeopardy. At least 15 states also have clearly detailed exceptions for abortions in the case of rape, incest, or if the baby in the womb has been diagnosed with a condition that will likely prove deadly. (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.patreon.com\/posts\/exceptions-to-64553251\">See Gump\u2019s research and state maps here<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>By muddling the line between intentional abortion, which aims to end the life of the baby in utero at all costs, and medical problems, leftists are trying to trick women into believing that conservative states don\u2019t value life.  <\/p>\n<p>The left wants to fearmonger women into believing the Supreme Court is out for their lives but the bottom line is<em> Dobbs<\/em> does not stop any woman from receiving the medical care she needs for an ectopic pregnancy, miscarriage, or any other potentially fatal complications. <\/p>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\" \/>\n<p>\n  Jordan Boyd is a staff writer at The Federalist and co-producer of The Federalist Radio Hour.
