That\u2019s a 17 percent hike in cookout prices thanks to government-induced inflation. <\/p>\n<p> In total, the cost is about $69.68 for a 10-person celebration that includes grilling essentials such as \u201ccheeseburgers, pork chops, chicken breasts, homemade potato salad, strawberries, and ice cream.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Remember last year\u2019s BBQ food prices? They were <em>slightly<\/em> lower than in 2020 when parts of the country were still under government-mandated lockdown and enduring the beginning of a years-long supply-chain crisis, so President Joe Biden\u2019s team tried to spin the inconsequential price decrease in his favor.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe cost of a 4th of July cookout in 2021 is down $0.16 from last year,\u201d the White House <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2021\/07\/02\/white-house-tells-americans-to-celebrate-their-freedom-with-literal-breadcrumbs\/\">bragged<\/a> in a pun-filled video posted to Twitter in 2021. <\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<span class=\"2fR3N1y5pKtuePGwkVW64v0aSrOFqcYIB8z9nAXD\"><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Planning a cookout this year? And that\u2019s something we can all relish. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/7h9qLauIbC\">pic.twitter.com\/7h9qLauIbC<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 The White House (@WhiteHouse) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/WhiteHouse\/status\/1410709115333234691?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">July 1, 2021<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><\/span>\n<\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p>At the time, the Biden administration used the same American Farm Bureau Federation\u2019s food price stats to argue that \u201cthe Biden economic plan is working,\u201d even though Americans were doomed to buy gas that was at a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2021\/06\/29\/gas-prices-hit-7-year-high-as-stations-run-low-on-fuel\/\">seven-year high<\/a> (RIP that $3.09 per gallon national average) and suffering <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/us-inflation-consumer-price-index-may-2021-11623288303?mod=hp_lead_pos1&#038;mod=hp_lead_pos1&#038;mod=article_inline\">a 5 percent increase<\/a> in consumer prices. <\/p>\n<p>That was just a few months after Biden gave a harangue <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2021\/03\/12\/biden-obey-dr-fauci-or-youll-be-locked-down-past-july-4\/\">demanding<\/a> that Americans obey Anthony Fauci\u2019s Covid-19 restrictions and shot orders or risk another wave of lockdowns.  <\/p>\n<p>Now Americans are largely free from the pandemic regime\u2019s clutches but don\u2019t necessarily have the financial freedom to host an expensive cookout. After all, how can a family that is already living paycheck to paycheck keep up with the <a href=\"https:\/\/gasprices.aaa.com\/\">$4.87 per gallon<\/a> national gas price average and inflation that is rising at its <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/06\/10\/while-biden-spreads-fastest-growing-economy-lie-americans-fight-a-new-40-year-inflation-high\/\">fastest pace in the last four decades<\/a>?
