Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.) and (R) Rep. (Evelyn Hockstein-Pool\/Getty Images) <\/p>\n<p>Frisch was 4 percent ahead of the closest challenger in the Democratic primary as of 9:59 p.m. ET, but the race was still too close too call.<\/p>\n<p>In Colorado, the candidate with the most votes wins. It\u2019s a more straightforward outcome than in some states, where runoffs are triggered when no candidate pulls in at least 50 percent of the vote.<\/p>\n<p>Moving forward to the fall general election, Boebert and the Democratic primary winner will face Kristin Skowronski, an Independent.<\/p>\n<p>And the district\u2019s 722,000 voters also will have the option of penning the name of Republican Marina Zimmerman, a write-in candidate, on their ballots.<\/p>\n<p>Nonpartisan election handicappers, including <a href=\"https:\/\/centerforpolitics.org\/crystalball\/2022-house\/\">Sabato\u2019s Crystal Ball<\/a>\u00a0 and <a href=\"https:\/\/insideelections.com\/ratings\/house\">Inside Elections<\/a>, predict Boebert as the likely winner, as of now.<\/p>\n<p>A MAGAverse icon, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/t-lauren-boebert\">Boebert<\/a>\u00a0is known for aggressive support for gun owners\u2019 rights and<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Trump-backed Rep.
