He had been a\u00a0quadruple world champion in his P1 AquaX, the largest watercraft championship in the world.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAll of us at\u00a0<em>The Watercraft Journal<\/em>\u00a0are heartsick to learn of the passing of world champion racer, Eric \u2018The Eagle\u2019 Francis while competing in Guadalupe this weekend. Eric was one of the hardest-charging racers today, a loving husband to Sophie and a dedicated father, as well as a good friend to so, so many in our sport. Godspeed, Eric,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/watercraftjournal.com\/racing-community-mourns-sudden-loss-of-multi-time-champion-eric-francis\/\">The Watercraft Journal<\/a> wrote.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWater conditions were deemed as \u2018moderate\u2019 for Saturday,\u201d The Watercraft Journal noted. \u201cAfter not checking in for the final stage of the event, a search party was sent. Eric\u2019s undamaged Kawasaki Ultra 310X JetSki was located with Eric found unresponsive a short distance away.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gofundme.com\/f\/e7gm8-francis-family\">GoFundMe page<\/a> was launched to support Francis\u2019 family. It stated, \u201cWhile money won\u2019t change anything, it will help take care of mom and the babies while they deal with the tragedy and loss of Eric!
