Wade<\/em>. He repeatedly told reporters that \u201cevery option is on the table\u201d but declined to specify whether\u00a0he supported suggestions to open abortion clinics on federal lands.<\/p>\n<p>HHS is \u201caware of a number of ideas and proposals, many of which we have been considering internally,\u201d he said, but the department has not made any decisions yet.<\/p>\n<p>One reporter who questioned the secretary pointed out that much of his remarks contained information already stated by the Biden administration in previous months.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen can we expect more concrete steps?\u201d she asked. \u201cAre your hands tied?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Becerra responded by telling the reporter that overturning <em>Roe v. Wade<\/em> upended \u201c50 years of precedent.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou want to make sure that what you do is within the confines of the law,\u201d he insisted. \u201cWe are not interested in going rogue and doing things just because. We want to make sure what we tell Americans is accurate.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFriday\u2019s Supreme Court decision was despicable, but it was also predictable,\u201d Becerra said in prepared remarks. \u201cHHS has been preparing for this for some time.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The secretary announced the launch of the HHS Reproductive Access Task Force to \u201cplan for every action necessary to protect women\u2019s access to reproductive health care.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere is no magic bullet,\u201d he added. \u201cBut if there is something we can do, we will find it and we will\u00a0do it at HHS.
