No further details were provided.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0House committee had previously been scheduled to take a break from hearings until July.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ve taken in some additional information that\u2019s going to require additional work. So rather than present hearings that have not been the quality of the hearings in the past, we made a decision to just move into sometime in July,\u201d Chairman Bennie Thompson (D-Miss.) <a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/policy\/national-security\/3538399-jan-6-committee-announces-last-minute-hearing-for-tuesday\/\">told<\/a> reporters on June 22.<\/p>\n<p>According to multiple <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/news\/2022\/06\/27\/jan-6-committee-surprise-tuesday-hearing-00042595\">reports<\/a>,\u00a0Cassidy Hutchinson, a former special assistant to President Donald Trump\u2019s chief of staff <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/t-mark-meadows\">Mark Meadows<\/a>, is set to testify publicly at the hearing.<\/p>\n<p>Her planned appearance, which would mark the first time a White House employee testifies publicly before the committee, was first reported by <a href=\"https:\/\/punchbowl.news\/\">Punchbowl News<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Hutchinson has already met with the committee on three separate occasions behind closed doors and video testimony from her deposition has been used during earlier panel hearings.<\/p>\n<p> Voter Fraud Concerns <\/p>\n<p>In March,\u00a0Hutchinson told the committee that\u00a0Reps. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio), Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.), Scott Perry (R-Pa.), Louie Gohmert (R-Texas), and other members of the House Freedom Caucus had met with then-White House Chief of Staff\u00a0Mark Meadows\u00a0to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/gop-lawmakers-allegedly-discussed-ways-to-prevent-election-certification-with-meadows_4428641.html\">discuss ways to\u00a0legally prevent the certification of the 2020 presidential election<\/a> due to concerns of voter fraud.<\/p>\n<p>That discussion allegedly included considering having then-Vice President Mike Pence refuse to accept the votes from battleground states like\u00a0Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Arizona, where the results of the election had been contested.<\/p>\n<p>Ultimately,<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The House committee investigating the Jan. 6, 2021, breach of the U.S. Capitol will hold a sixth hearing on Tuesday, June 28, after previously stating that it\u00a0would not be holding more hearings for the remainder of the month.
