Wade<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The possibility was first floated by Health and Human Services Secretary (HHS) <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/topic\/xavier-becerra\">Xavier Becerra<\/a>\u00a0on Sunday and then by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/topic\/kamala-harris\">Vice President Kamala Harris<\/a> in a CNN interview. Both said the details are still being worked out.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is something that we are looking at,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mediaite.com\/tv\/kamala-harris-says-administration-looking-at-possible-travel-vouchers-for-women-to-receive-abortions\/\">Harris told CNN\u2019s Dana Bash<\/a>. \u201cI think you\u2019re asking a very important point, making a very important point, which is what are the details that are going to go into ensuring the women have the ability to actually travel without impairment and we know that on this issue, women who have access to resources will probably be far less impacted by this decision than women who don\u2019t have resources.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/topic\/health-and-human-services\">Becerra<\/a>\u00a0first suggested the strategy in a Sunday interview with NBC correspondent Kate Snow at the Aspen Institute. Snow asked Becerra what the administration is doing in response to Friday\u2019s Supreme Court decision overturning <em>Roe v. Wade<\/em> and ending the federal right to abortion.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are working with supporters on the ground to make sure that we are providing services to women where we can,\u201d Becerra said. \u201cWe are looking into everything including assisting in transportation, something that HHS doesn\u2019t typically do.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCan you do that, legally?\u201d asked Snow.<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Biden HHS Secretary Xavier Becerra says his agency is &#8220;looking at&#8221; using taxpayer dollars to fund transportation to other states for abortions.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Can you do that legally?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>*laughs* <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/SeYroVxuUZ\">pic.twitter.com\/SeYroVxuUZ<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 RNC Research (@RNCResearch) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RNCResearch\/status\/1541478209430102018?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">June 27, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cTalk to me later,\u201d Becerra said with a smile as the audience laughed. \u201cI always tell my team at HHS if you\u2019ve done your homework then we have no right to do mild, and so we\u2019re going to be aggressive and go all the way, and, I would tell you \u2013 you\u2019re recording, so I won\u2019t tell you.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>When Snow told him it was on the record, Becerra replied, \u201cWe are looking at every option, and that includes transportation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>While the high court\u2019s decision did not outlaw abortion, and simply left it to states to regulate, several states are poised to ban the practice or roll back the gestational timeline in which they are permissible.
