The decision came following a <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/covid-science-politics-health-us-news-368ca7b4ab393dc48ffa04b5a3171d5b\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">unanimous<\/a> agreement among members of the FDA\u2019s advisory panel, who recommended the jabs for children under the age of five.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTogether, with science leading the charge, we have taken\u202fanother important step\u202fforward\u202fin our nation\u2019s fight against COVID-19,\u201d said CDC Director Rochelle Walensky in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/media\/releases\/2022\/s0618-children-vaccine.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">statement<\/a> on the matter. \u201cWe know millions of parents and caregivers are eager to get their young children vaccinated, and with today\u2019s decision, they can.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Walensky would later go on to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/cdc-director-offers-misinformation-in-promoting-covid-19-vaccination-for-children_4555777.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">falsely claim<\/a> during a Thursday press conference that Covid-19 has been one of the top five causes of death for children since the beginning of its outbreak, <a href=\"https:\/\/polimath.substack.com\/p\/essential-terms-of-the-authority\">making <\/a>her the third CDC official this month to make this assertion.<\/p>\n<p>In greenlighting the use of Covid jabs for infants, the CDC and FDA also officially made the United States the first country in the world to do so. U.S. President Joe Biden took to Twitter to celebrate the decision, <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/JoeBiden\/status\/1539641375414751232?s=20&#038;t=LMn4r51kbuGWHiozQEyfqQ\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">saying<\/a> that \u201cFor the first time in our fight against this pandemic, nearly every American can now have access to life-saving vaccines.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Similar sentiments were also echoed by White House Chief of Staff Ron Klain, who <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/WHCOS\/status\/1538234038586118144?s=20&#038;t=YE4OvQzgPyJk9l2SeK0UaA\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">repeatedly emphasized<\/a> how America would be \u201cthe first country on earth to give mRNA vaccines to its youngest children.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2>What Does the Science Say?<\/h2>\n<p>As has long been established, children are the least at-risk age demographic with respect to Covid-19. As of June 2, 2022, for instance, 0-to 17-year-olds comprised approximately <a href=\"https:\/\/www.statista.com\/statistics\/1191568\/reported-deaths-from-covid-by-age-us\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">0.1 percent<\/a> of the total Covid-related deaths in the United States. <a href=\"https:\/\/brownstone.org\/articles\/sweden-and-germany-no-deaths-in-children-due-to-covid\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Recent studies<\/a> conducted in Sweden and Germany have also documented similar trends, with both analyses finding Covid fatalities among healthy children in each European country to be nearly nonexistent. <\/p>\n<p>In addition to children <a href=\"https:\/\/pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/32371442\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">not being super-spreaders<\/a> of the virus, <a href=\"https:\/\/static1.squarespace.com\/static\/61e5afd7a33d334ec9f84595\/t\/628aea6c77428c2e703b27a2\/1653271150836\/Children+COVID+and+the+Urgency+of+Normal+The+Under+Age+5+Edition.pdf\">research shows<\/a> the majority of American children have already recovered from Covid and therefore possess immunity to reinfection. According to the CDC\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/cdc-covid-infections-kids-baefa22555970245f0ff939e7bbc7c80\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">own data<\/a>, approximately 75 percent of children in the United States have recovered from Covid. Numerous <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2021\/11\/12\/cdc-admits-it-has-no-evidence-of-recovered-covid-patients-spreading-the-virus\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">scientific studies<\/a> have shown individuals previously infected with the virus possess robust natural immunity.<\/p>\n<p>In light of such minimal risk to children and that the jabs <a href=\"https:\/\/static1.squarespace.com\/static\/61e5afd7a33d334ec9f84595\/t\/62115f823054865c6d5497a3\/1645305731693\/Urgency+of+Normal+Toolkit.pdf\">don\u2019t stop individuals<\/a> from getting or spreading the virus, medical professionals have begun to raise concerns about the U.S. government\u2019s push to vaccinate infants against Covid, given the risk of harmful side effects balanced against the potential benefits. While speaking with radio host Dan Bongino on Fox News, renowned cardiologist Dr. Peter McCullough <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/P_McCulloughMD\/status\/1538533693110865925\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">expressed<\/a> dismay at the FDA\u2019s decision and noted the effects of the virus are \u201ccharacteristically a mild syndrome in children\u201d when compared to the elderly.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe know even if [the vaccines are] used in kids, there won\u2019t be any differences in rates of Covid-19 serious outcomes,\u201d he said, referencing two studies on the subject. \u201cThere\u2019s no reductions in hospitalizations and deaths in the randomized trials. And, Dan, we have no assurances that these are safe over the long term.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Marty Makary, a surgeon and public policy researcher at Johns Hopkins University, also voiced concerns about the FDA and CDC\u2019s actions and criticized the data the health agencies cited as justification for their position. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere was NO STATISTICAL SIGNIFICANCE in the vaccine study cited by FDA &#038;CDC to recommend the vax in babies through kids<5>tweet. \u201cAny respected medical journal would normally reject this study for publication. How does the CDC so vigorously recommend this with such strong language?\u201d<\/5><\/p>\n<p>Makary later expanded upon his assessment in a recent <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/opinion\/cdc-recommends-covid-19-vaccines-babies-kids-under-5-6-things-parents-need-know\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Fox News op-ed<\/a>, saying the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/vaccines\/acip\/meetings\/downloads\/slides-2022-06-17-18\/03-COVID-Oliver-508.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">studies<\/a> cited by the federal government \u201cwere too small to achieve statistical significance when evaluating efficacy against mild or severe COVID-19 infection.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2>DeSantis Courageously Says the Truth<\/h2>\n<p>Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis a recent press conference also highlighted the medical concerns about giving healthy babies Covid shots.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are not gonna have any [state] programs where we\u2019re trying to jab 6-month-old babies with mRNA. That\u2019s just the reality,\u201d he said, while referencing several data points on the subject. \u201cThe White House is bragging that we\u2019re the only country that is trying to do mRNA shots for infants \u2026 There\u2019s nothing wrong with being the lone ranger if you\u2019re right, but the other countries in Europe that are going a different direction, similar to the direction Florida\u2019s gone, they have been right on Covid way more than [Dr. Anthony] Fauci and his crew have been throughout this whole thing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Germany and France, along with Denmark, Finland, Sweden, and Norway, have all <a href=\"https:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/roberthart\/2021\/11\/10\/germany-france-restrict-modernas-covid-vaccine-for-under-30s-over-rare-heart-risk-despite-surging-cases\/?sh=3f796ff12a8a\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">restricted<\/a> the distribution of the Moderna Covid shots for individuals under the age of 30, all citing the documented risk of heart inflammation among young people as justification. Florida has also taken similar actions, with the state\u2019s Department of Health becoming the first in the nation to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.floridahealth.gov\/newsroom\/2022\/03\/20220308-FDOH-covid19-vaccination-recommendations-children.pr.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">recommend against<\/a> the use of Covid shots for children back in March.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><\/figure>\n<p>The willingness of DeSantis to listen to medical professionals who courageously raise questions about the CDC and FDA\u2019s decision-making process is a much-needed breath of fresh air. For too long, America\u2019s health bureaucracy has operated with little oversight, with agencies like the CDC and FDA apparently functioning as rubber stamps for Big Pharma rather than legitimate scientific institutions. <\/p>\n<p>While the decision to vaccinate one\u2019s child is an individual choice for parents, the blanket authorization from the CDC and FDA to jab infants against scientific evidence accepted by many scientists and peer nations deserves far greater scrutiny and investigation.
