Flores\u2019 daughters wouldn\u2019t be hidden behind her in all of the photos of such an important moment for their family,\u201d Hammill tweeted, adding a dig at Fox News by putting \u201cnews outlets\u201d in quotes as he shared a story published by the outlet.<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">It\u2019s sad to see \u201cnews outlets\u201d that know better misrepresent the Speaker\u2019s effort to ensure Rep. She continued to smile and pose for the picture like a Queen. No child should be pushed to the side for a photo op. PERIOD!!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>When she won her <a href=\"https:\/\/dailywire.com\/news\/republican-mayra-flores-wins-u-s-house-seat-in-south-texas-first-gop-win-there-in-150-years\/\">special election<\/a> on June 15th, Flores flipped Texas\u2019 34th Congressional District \u2014 which had long been a Democratic stronghold \u2014 and became the first Mexican-born woman to win a seat in the U.S. House of Representatives.<\/p>\n<p>Flores will have to remain on campaign footing, however, because her win only gave her the last few months of former Congressman Filemon Vela\u2019s (D-TX) term.
