Abortions are expected to resume soon.<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Caroline Kitchener (@CAKitchener) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/CAKitchener\/status\/1541464147589844992?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">June 27, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Giarrusso granted a temporary restraining order of the enforcement of the abortion ban allowing Lousiana clinics to continue performing abortions without fear of violating the state law banning abortion, KPLC reported. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/06\/25\/first-feminists-opposed-abortion-movement-was-hijacked\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED:\u00a0America\u2019s First Feminists Opposed Abortion, Then The Movement Was Hijacked)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>CRR\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/reproductiverights.org\/abortion-providers-challenge-trigger-laws-in-louisiana-after-supreme-court-overturns-roe-v-wade\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">statement<\/a> said its clients, including <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hopemedical.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Hope Medical Group for Women<\/a> administrator Kathaleen Pittman and <a href=\"https:\/\/msfc.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Medical Students for Choic<\/a>e, felt the state\u2019s trigger laws were \u201cunconstitutionally vague,\u201d making it \u201cimpossible\u201d to tell which abortion laws were going into effect and what is considered an elective abortion versus procedures that would save the mother\u2019s life.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSeeking reproductive care is already difficult in the U.S., and especially in Louisiana. Now, as state governments are trying to ban abortion throughout the country, including in Louisiana, my heart is with our patients whose entire lives and future may change based on the next few days,\u201d said Pittman in the statement. \u201cWe are committed to this monumental legal challenge \u2013 not to perpetuate an endless political battle, but to ensure our patients\u2019 wellbeing and so that they may draw strength from our dedication to this fight.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Pamela Merritt, Executive Director at Medical Students for Choice, said in the statement that her organization\u2019s members were \u201coutraged and \u201cheartbroken\u201d by SCOTUS\u2019 decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women\u2019s Health Organization that overturned Roe v. Wade.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhile [Medical Students for Choice] have been actively preparing for this moment, it\u2019s never easy to see the government take human rights away from millions of people, including those in Louisiana,\u201d said Merritt. \u201cWe have joined this important lawsuit because we are committed to doing everything in our power to ensure that medical students in the United States continue receiving education and training in abortion and family planning.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Democratic\u00a0Louisiana Gov. John Bel Edwards signed Senate Bill 342 into law on June 21 that would immediately ban all abortions in the state with no exclusion for rape or incest, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theadvertiser.com\/story\/news\/2022\/06\/21\/louisiana-governor-signs-abortion-ban-no-rape-incest-exceptions\/7689072001\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">reported<\/a> the\u00a0Lafayette Daily Advertiser.<\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">\u201cMy position on abortion has been unwavering,\u201d Edwards said, reported the outlet. \u201cI am pro-life and have never hidden from that fact.
