Wade,<\/em> a new report says more than 1 million Americans have switched to the Republican Party in the last 12 months.<\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u201cA political shift is beginning to take hold across the U.S. as tens of thousands of suburban swing voters who helped fuel the Democratic Party\u2019s gains in recent years are becoming Republicans,\u201d the Associated Press\u00a0<a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/2022-midterm-elections-biden-covid-health-presidential-e50db07385831e67f866ec45402be8b9\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">reported<\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">.<\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u201cMore than 1 million voters across 43 states have switched to the Republican Party over the last year, according to voter registration data analyzed by The Associated Press. The previously unreported number reflects a phenomenon that is playing out in virtually every region of the country \u2014 Democratic and Republican states along with cities and small towns \u2014 in the period since President Joe Biden replaced former President Donald Trump.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The AP said the explosion of Republicans in key battleground states could play a factor in the 2022 mid-terms and the 2024 presidential election.<\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u201cBut nowhere is the shift more pronounced \u2014 and dangerous for Democrats \u2014 than in the suburbs, where well-educated swing voters who turned against Trump\u2019s Republican Party in recent years appear to be swinging back. Over the last year, far more people are switching to the GOP across suburban counties from Denver to Atlanta and Pittsburgh and Cleveland,\u201d the AP wrote. \u201cRepublicans also gained ground in counties around medium-size cities such as Harrisburg, Pennsylvania; Raleigh, North Carolina; Augusta, Georgia; and Des Moines, Iowa.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">While Democrats now have the abortion issue heading into the November elections, even liberal CNN says things look grim for the party in the mid-terms.<\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u201cCNN senior data reporter Harry Enten on Monday predicted a 2022 midterm election landslide for Republicans in the House of Representatives,\u201d the HuffPost\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.huffpost.com\/entry\/cnn-harry-enten-midterm-forecast_n_629f1c90e4b016c4eefd4339\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">wrote<\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">.<\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u201cThe November elections are months away, but Enten\u2019s findings are pointing in the wrong direction for Democrats, who hold a 12-seat House majority. Enten said Republicans are in their best position in more than 80 years. \u2018My estimate for the 2023 House makeup, if the election were held today, which again, it isn\u2019t\u2026 would be Republicans, 236 seats to 241 seats.
