Wade<\/em>, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/supreme-court-abortion-ruling-political-violence-warning\/\">warned<\/a> that threats of political violence, especially against judges and state officials, will probably intensify in coming days.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe hell with the Supreme Court \u2014 we will defy them,\u201d Rep. Maxine Waters, D-Calif., <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/maxine-waters-reacts-dobbs-ruling-hell-supreme-court-we-will-defy-them\">exhorted protesters<\/a>. \u201cYou see this out here?\u201d added Waters in reference to the size of the D.C. protest. \u201cYou ain\u2019t seen nothing yet.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., <a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/courts\/aoc-calls-supreme-court-illegitimate-tells-abortion-advocates-to-escalate-protests\/\">called the court<\/a> \u201cillegitimate\u201d and urged supporters \u201cinto the streets.\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2022\/06\/24\/roe-v-wade-decision-how-us-cities-are-preparing-for-protests\/\">Cities<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsweek.com\/catholic-church-prepares-attacks-abortion-rights-activists-1718721\">churches<\/a>, in response, are preparing for protests and potential violence, especially given <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/pro-life-org-congressmans-campaign-office-vandalized-janes-revenge\">recent<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/us\/north-carolina-pregnancy-center-defiant-pro-abortion-vandalism-spiritual-warfare\">attacks<\/a> against pro-life organizations and a politician.<\/p>\n<p>Indeed, dozens of pregnancy help centers and other pro-life groups in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.catholicnewsagency.com\/news\/251553\/map-vandalism-attacks-continue-at-pro-life-centers-across-us\">states across the country<\/a> have <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/justice\/fbi-investigating-series-of-attacks-and-threats-against-pregnancy-centers-and-faith-based-groups\">endured threats and seen their offices vandalized<\/a> in recent weeks. Churches <a href=\"https:\/\/aleteia.org\/2022\/06\/15\/over-40-attacks-on-churches-and-pregnancy-centers-as-supreme-court-ruling-looms\/\">have experienced much the same<\/a>. Authorities recently arrested a California resident who traveled to DC and allegedly told a Maryland 911 operator that he wanted to kill Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh (the man <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/brett-kavanaugh-attempted-murder-suspect-nicholas-roske-pleads-not-guilty\">pled not guilty<\/a> to attempted murder).<\/p>\n<p>Threats, vandalism, doxxing, violence \u2014 is this what the pro-choice movement is about? It certainly seems that way, especially when activist groups <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailysignal.com\/2022\/06\/16\/the-leash-is-off-abortion-activists-behind-attacks-on-pro-lifers-issue-new-threats-urge-others-to-burn\/\">threaten<\/a> to \u201ctake increasingly drastic measures against oppressive infrastructures,\u201d and prominent pro-choice politicians <a href=\"https:\/\/www.catholicnewsagency.com\/news\/251565\/nancy-pelosi-catholic-faith-abortion-pro-life-clinic-attacks\">remain silent<\/a> about the rising number of such incidents against pro-lifers. <\/p>\n<p>Then again, perhaps we shouldn\u2019t be surprised, given abortion has always been defined by an act of violence against the innocent. The pro-choice movement is simply showing its true colors.<\/p>\n<h2>Are They Only Getting Started?<\/h2>\n<p>After the Supreme Court leak of the <em>Roe<\/em> repudiation, pro-choice activists\u00a0aggressively sought to intimidate the highest court in the land. Pro-choice group \u201cRuth Sent Us\u201d a couple of weeks ago <a href=\"https:\/\/www1.cbn.com\/cbnnews\/us\/2022\/june\/abortion-group-ruth-sent-us-suggests-targeting-justice-amy-coney-barretts-children-and-church\">alluded<\/a> to targeting Supreme Court Justice Amy Coney Barrett at her home, church, and the school her children attend. Protestors have <a href=\"https:\/\/www.curbed.com\/2022\/05\/samuel-alito-fort-hunt-suburbs.html\">regularly appeared outside<\/a> Justice Samuel Alito\u2019s home in Virginia, while others on social media <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2022\/05\/19\/supreme-court-justices-get-around-the-clock-home-security-amid-threats\/\">have threatened to kill him<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>A DHS memo in May warned that \u201cdomestic violence extremists and criminal actors have adopted narratives surrounding abortion rights to encourage violence, likely increasing the threat to government, religious, and reproductive healthcare personnel and facilities and ideological opponents.\u201d And so they have. <\/p>\n<p>A group calling itself \u201cJane\u2019s Revenge\u201d distributed flyers across the U.S. capital and country <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2022\/06\/22\/biden-denounces-threatened-night-of-rage-over-anticipated-abortion-ruling\/\">proposing<\/a> a \u201cnight of rage\u201d if the court overturns <em>Roe v. Wade<\/em>. Now that it has, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2022-06-24\/crowd-grows-quickly-outside-supreme-court-protest-update\">massive<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2022\/06\/24\/us\/supreme-court-roe-v-wade-protests\/index.html\">protests<\/a> are <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sfgate.com\/bayarea\/article\/Roe-v-Wade-protests-in-San-Francisco-17263260.php\">planned<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnewyork.com\/news\/local\/abortion-rights-supporters-plan-ny-protests-after-court-strikes-down-roe-v-wade\/3748186\/\">across<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.seattletimes.com\/seattle-news\/where-abortion-protests-are-planned-in-seattle-and-washington\/\">the country<\/a>, one wonders when that shoe will drop. Given the heated rhetoric (and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=p9pX7YY-iOE\">use of Molotov cocktails<\/a>), it\u2019s possible America is set to witness yet another wave of destruction and violence, as we did in 2020.<\/p>\n<h2>The Media\u2019s War Messaging Campaign<\/h2>\n<p>But it\u2019s not just pro-choice activist groups who are taking a more extreme, aggressive stance towards their opponents. Corporate media since the <em>Dobbs v. Jackson Women\u2019s Health<\/em> leak have attempted to arouse the ire of the pro-choice base, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.womenshealthmag.com\/life\/g40187340\/pro-choice-abortion-protest-signs-ideas\/\">warning<\/a> that an end to <em>Roe<\/em> will usher in a dystopian future that will vitiate women\u2019s freedom to levels not seen since\u2026 well, never, if you ask them. The New York Times now has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/spotlight\/abortion-news\">an entire section<\/a> devoted to keeping its readers\u2019 angst about abortion at a constant fever pitch.<\/p>\n<p>The Washington Post on June 20 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/politics\/2022\/06\/20\/texas-abortion-law-teen-mom\/\">published a front-page story<\/a> on a Texas teen who discovered she was pregnant 48 hours before the recent Texas abortion ban took effect. WaPo reporter Caroline Kitchener <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/media\/washington-post-article-abortion-law-texas-deemed-inadvertently-pro-life-twitter\">tweeted<\/a> about her story: \u201cNearly 10 months into the Texas abortion ban, women have started having the babies they never planned to carry to term.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Yet as pro-life activist Lila Rose retorted to Kitchener, \u201cShe trusted you and you wrote a cruel, condescending piece about her. You objectified her &#038; her beautiful girls for your own pro-abortion ideology.\u201d Indeed, imagine being one of those twin girls years from now, discovering your story was exploited by a national newspaper with the implicit message that perhaps it would have been better if you hadn\u2019t been born. <\/p>\n<p>Prominent feminist pundit Jill Filipovic doesn\u2019t seem to have a problem with that \u2014 <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/JillFilipovic\/status\/1538923564841287680\">she claimed<\/a> the story is a \u201ca perfect illustration of how girls and women are used, manipulated, and discarded, their futures and dreams snuffed out.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2>Who Is The Real Extremist?<\/h2>\n<p>A \u201ctake no prisoners\u201d approach to reporting on abortion \u2014 which is really <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/06\/17\/hundreds-of-newspapers-work-to-bury-opinion-as-journalism-by-dropping-op-eds\/\">opinion as journalism<\/a> \u2014 represents only one aspect of the media\u2019s pro-choice campaign. Another is the increasingly radicalized rhetoric in their public opinions. <\/p>\n<p>Feminist columnist Monica Hesse in a caustic <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/lifestyle\/2022\/01\/21\/roe-wade-abortion-march-for-life\/\">January column<\/a> censured the pro-life cause\u2019s \u201cbrave new world\u201d of \u201cstate-sanctioned control over women\u2019s bodies,\u201d and asserted that the pro-life movement, not individual persons, should be held responsible for everyone who gets pregnant. Such language matches well with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/outlook\/how-democrats-purged-safe-legal-rare-from-the-party\/2019\/11\/15\/369af73c-01a4-11ea-8bab-0fc209e065a8_story.html\">shift in pro-choice rhetoric<\/a> from \u201csafe, legal and rare,\u201d to \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2019\/03\/23\/opinion\/sunday\/abortion-speakout-anniversary.html\">shout your abortion<\/a>\u201d and \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/story\/opinion\/columnist\/2022\/05\/23\/abortion-without-limits-democrats\/9835652002\/?gnt-cfr=1\">abortion without limits<\/a>.\u201d Abortion providers <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/education\/2022\/06\/20\/abortion-training-medical-school\/\">tattoo clothes hangers on their bodies<\/a>. Brave new world, indeed.<\/p>\n<p>In truth, the pro-choice movement wants an American regime whose abortion laws are far more extreme than those found in Western Europe. Already, the United States is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.catholicnewsagency.com\/news\/249247\/united-states-europe-abortion-law-comparison\">one of only seven countries<\/a> that allow elective abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy. <\/p>\n<p>That puts America in the company of not only Canada, Singapore, and the Netherlands, but communist, totalitarian regimes North Korea, China, and Vietnam. This is something to be proud of? Most of Europe has more restrictive abortion regulations than the United States: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.catholicnewsagency.com\/news\/249247\/united-states-europe-abortion-law-comparison\">only three of 42 European countries<\/a> that permit elective abortion allow it past 15 weeks.<\/p>\n<h2>The Saddest Irony<\/h2>\n<p>For all the bluster of the pro-choice cause \u2014 <a href=\"https:\/\/spectatorworld.com\/topic\/the-lefts-great-abortion-freakout\/\">absurdly warning<\/a> that overturning <em>Roe <\/em>will cause a cascade of secondary and tertiary effects resulting in an imagined tyrannical theocracy \u2014 it is they who have promoted a regime of violence. <\/p>\n<p>Let us not forget that abortion as early as six weeks stops a beating heart and ends the formation of a human brain. More fundamentally, abortion ends a human life when it is most vulnerable. It is an act of terrible, state-sanctioned violence that has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/abortions-since-roe-v-wade\">caused the deaths of 63 million Americans<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>Moreover, as Ryan Anderson and Alexandra DeSanctis argue in their <a href=\"https:\/\/www.regnery.com\/9781684513505\/tearing-us-apart\/\">new book<\/a>, the real secondary and tertiary effects are the physical and psychological harm abortion causes to women and families, the distortion of our constitutional regime, and the twisting of medical practitioners into executioners.<\/p>\n<p>Perhaps, then, it isn\u2019t surprising that the rhetoric of the pro-choice cause has turned to acerbic and profane, and that their public activities are increasingly destructive and violent. Abortion was, and always will be, an unprovoked act of murderous aggression against the innocent. <\/p>\n<p>That its promoters have been willing to pursue a scorched-earth policy towards their opponents \u2014 regardless of the collateral damage to many young women and children exploited by pro-choice messaging campaigns \u2014 simply proves what\u2019s been true since the beginning.
