That is something that the President does not agree with. That is not something that he wants to do,\u201d Jean-Pierre <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/briefing-room\/press-briefings\/2022\/06\/25\/press-gaggle-by-press-secretary-karine-jean-pierre-and-nsc-coordinator-for-strategic-communications-john-kirby-en-route-munich-germany\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">said<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere was a commission that was put together about how to potentially move forward with the Court \u2014 reform the Court. I don\u2019t have anything more to share from any \u2014 any final decision that the President has made,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n<p>The White House secretary added additional comments regarding the Supreme Court\u2019s\u00a0decision to overturn\u00a0<em>Roe v. Wade\u00a0<\/em>on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was talking about the popularity of how much Americans support <em>Roe v. Wade<\/em>. Never \u2014 this is the most support that Roe \u2014 <em>Roe v. Wade<\/em> has gotten ever,\u201d Jean-Pierre stated.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI mean, it is \u2014 it has such a majority popularity. And so for the Court to have made this extreme ruling is so out of step. It\u2019s so out of step not only with this decision, but it\u2019s also so out of step with the Constitution,\u201d she noted.<\/p>\n<p>On Friday, Biden shared his remarks regarding the verdict overturning the nearly half-century abortion precedent.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNow, with Roe gone, let\u2019s be very clear: The health and life of women in this nation are now at risk,\u201d the president <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/briefing-room\/speeches-remarks\/2022\/06\/24\/remarks-by-president-biden-on-the-supreme-court-decision-to-overturn-roe-v-wade\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">said<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>He called the ruling \u201ca realization of an extreme ideology and a tragic error by the Supreme Court, in my view.\u201d<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">State laws banning abortion are taking effect today \u2013 some of them so extreme that women can be punished for protecting their own health, even in cases of rape and incest.<\/p>\n<p>The health and lives of millions of women are at risk. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/wRGtHGgoWp\">pic.twitter.com\/wRGtHGgoWp<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 President Biden (@POTUS) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/POTUS\/status\/1540470588141178883?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">June 24, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Biden\u2019s speech directly attacked conservative-led states with abortion \u201ctrigger\u201d laws that further limit the procedure following the decision. 13 states have laws set to go into effect within 30 days of the ruling to restrict abortions.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSeveral other states where recent antiabortion legislation has been blocked by the courts are expected to act next, with lawmakers moving to activate their dormant legislation. A handful of states also have pre-Roe abortion bans that could be brought back to life,\u201d The Washington Post <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/politics\/2022\/06\/24\/abortion-state-laws-criminalization-roe\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Missouri became the first state to effectively ban abortion following the Supreme Court\u2019s ruling. Attorney General Eric Schmitt (R-MO) signed an opinion regarding the state\u2019s trigger law less than one hour following the court\u2019s announcement.<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">\ud83d\udea8 BREAKING \ud83d\udea8 Following the SCOTUS ruling overturning Roe v.
