Wade<\/a> Friday caused thousands of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/anarchical-and-criminal-actions-arizona-authorities-address-rioting-from-pro-abortion-activists-in-state-capitol\">pro-abortion advocates<\/a> to take to the streets and voice their anger with the decision, but many considered other avenues to show their disapproval of the Roe reversal.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/topic\/google\">Google<\/a> searches for \u201chow to move to Canada from U.S.\u201d spiked 850% in the hour following the high court\u2019s decision, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.axios.com\/2022\/06\/25\/after-the-ruling-americans-ask-google-how-to-move-to-canada\">according<\/a> to a report from Axios that cited Google Trends data. People searching \u201chow to become a Canadian citizen\u201d also jumped 550% during the same time period.<\/p>\n<p>Following the Supreme Court\u2019s 6-3 decision to uphold a 2018 Mississippi abortion ban, with five of the justices also deciding to overturn Roe, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/americas-foreign-allies-some-with-stricter-abortion-laws-than-u-s-lament-supreme-court-abortion-decision\">called<\/a> the ruling \u201ca devastating setback.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy heart goes out to the millions of American women who are now set to lose their legal right to an abortion. I can\u2019t imagine the fear and anger you are feeling right now,\u201d he <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/news\/2022\/06\/24\/trudeau-roe-v-wade-response-00042316\">tweeted<\/a>. \u201cNo government, politician, or man should tell a woman what she can and cannot do with her body.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Canadian leader also told reporters at a summit in Rwanda that he was thinking of women specifically in the U.S. affected by the end of <em>Roe<\/em>. \u201cToday I think of those generations of women around the world and specifically in the United States who fought so hard to gain rights \u2026 and are facing this devastating setback.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Canada holds some of the most radical abortion-friendly laws in the world. The country has no federal restrictions on abortions, and women can abort their unborn child at any stage of the pregnancy. Abortions in the country are also publicly funded, The Daily Wire previously <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/americas-foreign-allies-some-with-stricter-abortion-laws-than-u-s-lament-supreme-court-abortion-decision\">reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Moving to Canada has been a popular consideration for many on the Left when U.S. politics don\u2019t go their way. The new Google search trend echoes similar sentiments by Left-leaning celebrities leading up to and following the election of former President <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/topic\/donald-trump\">Donald Trump<\/a> in November 2016.<\/p>\n<p>Celebrities like Chelsea Handler, Lena Dunham, Stephen King, Barbara Streisand, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.businessinsider.com\/celebrities-move-to-canada-if-donald-trump-becomes-president-2016-11#chlo-sevigny-9\">others<\/a> all suggested they would move to America\u2019s northern neighbor if Trump won the election.
