On Saturday, Biden said while the bill doesn\u2019t have everything he wanted, it includes actions he\u2019s long called for that are going to save lives.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><strong>\u201cLives will be saved,\u201d the President said. \u201cTheir message to us was to do something. Well today, we did.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The house passed a compromise made by a group of bipartisan Senators on Friday, which included enhanced background checks for buyers under 21 and provides federal funding for states to implement \u201cRed Flag\u201d laws. Biden signed the measure two days after the Supreme Court\u2019s ruling struck down a New York law that restricted people\u2019s ability to carry concealed weapons.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">I just signed into law the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act. While this bill doesn&#8217;t do everything I want it to, it does include actions that I&#8217;ve long called for that will save lives.<\/p>\n<p>Today, we acted for the families that have lost their souls to an epidemic of gun violence. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/QWg3orWuS1\">pic.twitter.com\/QWg3orWuS1<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 President Biden (@POTUS) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/POTUS\/status\/1540739229529038849?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">June 25, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<blockquote>\n<p><strong>\u201cFrom Columbine to Sandy Hook to Charleston, Orlando, Las Vegas, Parkland, El Paso, Atlanta, Buffalo, Uvalde,\u201d Biden voiced. \u201cFor the shootings that happen every day in the streets that are mass shootings we don\u2019t even hear about.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>It also gets rid of the so called \u201cboyfriend loophole,\u201d prohibiting those convicted of domestic abuse from owing a firearm.
